Ukrainian metalcore band Jinjer is set to release their fifth studio album, Duél, on 7 February 2025.[1]
Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil is set to release their tenth studio album, Sleepless Empire, on 14 February 2025.[2] It will be their first studio album since Black Anima (2019).
Japanese rock band One Ok Rock is set to release their eleventh studio album, Detox, on 21 February 2025. The album will have a more hard rock sound, and was produced by multiple record producers, including Rob Cavallo, Dan Lancaster, and Pete Nappi.[3]
Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox is set to release their second studio album, Tsunami Sea, on 7 March 2025.[4] The band aims to show that the success and positive reception to their first studio album, Eternal Blue (2021), was not a fluke. They aim to strike a balance between moving into more progressive directions without getting too deep into showmanship.[5]
Papa Roach is scheduled to release their twelfth studio album, their first since Ego Trip (2022). The band concurrently plans on celebrating the 25th anniversary of their breakout album Infest (2000) as well.[6]
Nine Inch Nails is scheduled to release new music, their first since the surprise dual release of Ghosts V and Ghosts VI (2020). At least some of the music was revealed to be part of Trent Reznor's efforts to score the 2025 film Tron: Ares.[7][8]
Mammoth WVH is scheduled to release their third studio album. Frontman Wolfgang Van Halen stated that work on the album began in January 2024, and the release is tentatively titled Mammoth III, completing the trilogy of release that started with Mammoth WVH (2021) and Mammoth II (2023).[9]
Shinedown is scheduled to release their eighth studio album, their first since Planet Zero (2022). Around mid-2024, the band revealed they had recorded six drum tracks for the album so far.[10]
Garbage is scheduled to release their eighth studio album, their first since No Gods No Masters (2021). Shirley Manson stated that the album may be their last and that they may be disbanding following its release.[11]
Motionless in White is scheduled to release their seventh studio album, their first since Scoring the End of the World (2022). The band is taking their time with its writing and recording, prioritizing quality over maintaining their momentum in popularity gains in the 2020s.[12]
Disturbed is scheduled to release their ninth studio album. In July 2024, guitarist Dan Donegan announced the band had begun work on recording a follow up to Divisive (2022).[13]
English rock musician Steven Wilson (formerly of Porcupine Tree) is scheduled to release his eighth solo studio album. He announced it was finished in early 2024, but he intends to release it in early 2025. It is a concept album consisting of two 20 minute songs.[15]
Dutch symphonic metal band Epica is set to release their ninth studio album. They began working on it in March 2024.[16]
Danish rock band Volbeat is set to release their ninth studio album. They started working on it after their 2023 Summer tour.[17] Frontman Michael Poulsen underwent a throat surgery in October 2023, which prevented the band from performing live shows in 2024.[18]
Anthrax is set to release their twelfth studio album, their first since For All Kings (2016).[19] Bassist Frank Bello said their upcoming album will be "heavier than ever".[20]
English rock band Def Leppard is set to release their 13th studio album. After releasing a single titled "Just Like '73", guitarist Phil Collen said it was "the seed of a new Def Leppard album".[21]
Halestorm is scheduled to release their sixth studio album.[22] The recording will emphasize recreating their live sound.[23][24]
Canadian rock band Three Days Grace is set to release their eighth studio album. It will be their first studio album since Transit of Venus (2012) with original frontman Adam Gontier, who left the band in 2013, and returned to the band in 2024. He was replaced by Matt Walst, who will also remain a lead singer as well, making them a two-vocal band.[27]
Slipknot band members are scheduled to release an album. The album, Look Outside Your Window, was recorded by four of the band's members in 2008 during the band's lengthy All Hope Is Gone sessions. The album will have a more experimental and melodic rock sound as opposed to their traditional metal sound.[28] The band once aimed to release it in 2023 once band members were scheduled from their record label contract.[29] It was delayed to 2024 due to Corey Taylor's commitment to his second solo album CMF2 in the second half of 2023, and then again to 2025.[30][31]
Canadian rock band Finger Eleven is set to release their eighth studio album, Adrenaline. It will be their first studio album in a decade, since Five Crooked Lines (2015).[32]
Warped Tour is set to return for the first time in six years to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Three festivals are set to take place in June, July, and November.[38]
English rock band Oasis reforms for the first time in 15 years for their Oasis Live '25 Tour. The announcement ends 15 years of bitter feuds between brothers Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher, who previously denied that any reunion would take effect.[39][40][41]
Louder Than Life festival is set to take place from September 18 to September 21, 2025. It will be headlined by Slayer.[42]
Canadian rock band Sum 41 will break up following the release of their final studio album Heaven :x: Hell (2024),[44] with a final tour that will end in January 2025.[45]
Australian metalcore band Void of Vision will break up following a final headline tour in Australia in February 2025.[46]
English rock band You Me at Six announced they will break up after over 20 years of performing following a final tour in 2025.[47][48]
Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura will break up after a farewell tour marking the band's 40th anniversary, set to end in September 2025.[49]
X will break up following the release of their final studio album Smoke & Fiction (2024), with a final tour set to end in 2025.[50]
