The 52nd Saturn Awards will be presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films to honor the best in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and other genres belonging to genre fiction in film, television, and home entertainment.[1] The eligibility period for nominations extended from October 2023 to October 31, 2024.[2]
The ceremony will be held on February 2, 2025, at Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles, and will be live-streamed for the third consecutive year on Electric Entertainment's OTT app and FAST channel ElectricNow, and will be broadcast for the very first time on video streaming service The Roku Channel.[1] Joel McHale will host the event for the third year in a row.[3] Additionally, the 2025 ceremony will be dedicated to and held in memory of late film producer Jon Landau (1960–2024), long-time collaborator of multiple Saturn Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron.[1][4][5]
The nominations were announced on December 5, 2024.[1][6][7][8] The epic science fiction film Dune: Part Two (adapted from Frank Herbert's 1965 novel Dune and a continuation of the 2021 film Dune) led the film nominations with fourteen — nine more than what the first part received in 2022 — including Best Science Fiction Film and five acting nominations, followed by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with thirteen and Deadpool & Wolverine with ten.[1][6][7][8] For the television categories, Prime Video series Fallout (adapted from the role-playing video game franchise of the same name) and the AMC miniseries The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (the sixth spin-off and overall seventh television series in The Walking Dead franchise) led the nominations with five each.[1][6][7][8]
