About Tilly Beamis is a 1984 novel by Sumner Locke Elliott.[1]
Reception
[edit]Kirkus wrote "Elliott tightropes precariously through a roiling, date-hopping tale of passions--balancing his somewhat overdrawn characters between adventurous psycho-philosophical speculation and solid, plain-Jane storytelling."[2]
The Sydney Morning Herald called it "less powerful and coherent" than Careful He Might Hear You.[3]
Proposed Film Adaptation
[edit]Producer Jill Robb, who had made a successful film of Careful He Might Hear You, attempted to make a film version of the novel but none eventuated.[4]
