Brännström was raised by a single mother.[4]

Playing career

Brännström was regarded as a Sweden prospect.[5]

Managerial career

Brännström started his managerial career with Swedish side IK Sirius.[6] In 2021, he was appointed assistant manager of Croatian side Hajduk.[7] In 2023, he was appointed manager of Swedish side AIK.[8][9]

On 24 August 2024, Brännström was appointed manager of Czech club Mladá Boleslav.[10]
