Arena da Floresta (English: Forest Arena) is a multi-use stadium in Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 13,784[3] and it was built in 2006.
History
[edit]The stadium, built in 2006, was inaugurated on December 17 of that year, when Rio Branco-AC beat Brazil national under-20 football team 2–1.[4] The stadium's attendance record currently stands at 17,000, set on that match.[5]
Structure
[edit]Each locker room has the capacity to accommodate twenty athletes, in addition to a 40m² warm-up area. The stadium still has two elevators in operation (six more are still under construction), two grandstands and eight boxes. In 2007, around 14,000 seats were purchased and installed by the state government, leaving the stands with 100% seats. These chairs were installed in a modern design, with mosaics and drawings of figures borrowed from the Amazon and its animals, in the colors of the State of Acre flag: green, red and yellow. In addition, electronic turnstiles began to operate in all areas of access to the stadium, which help fans enter. Support systems provide capacity for mobile cameras, used at the stadium's inauguration.[6]
