Balléyara is a department of the Tillabéri Region in Niger. Its administrative seat is the city of Tagazar. As of 2012, the department had a total population of 107,134 people.[1]
History
[edit]The department goes back to the administrative post (poste administratif) of Balleyara, which was established in 1971. In 2011, the administrative post was separated from the department of Filingué and elevated to the department of Balleyara.
