The Cruel Kids' Table

[edit]

Coylar is perhaps best known for their January 2025 New York magazine cover story "The Cruel Kids' Table" about young conservative Americans and Coylar's experiences at a 2024 President Donald Trump re-election party.[9]

The article resulted in a conservative backlash when American Conservation Coalition president Christopher Barnard criticized the cover story saying "New York Magazine literally cropped all the Black people out of this cover photo and then complained that 'the entire room is White.'"[10]

In addition, Trump influencer and conservative activist CJ Pearson threatened to sue New York magazine because of the story.[11]
