Marius Ciprian Panait (born 22 November 1976) is a Romanian football manager who is currently manager at Liga I club Petrolul Ploiești.[3] Ciprian Panait has a distinguished international career, known for his tactical expertise and leadership across top clubs in the Middle East. His most impactful chapter came at Al Hilal FC in Saudi Arabia—one of Asia’s most successful clubs—where he served in multiple key roles over several years. Panait is highly regarded for his ability to lead multicultural teams, with a coaching style rooted in discipline, clarity, and player development. Fluent in several languages and experienced in high-stakes environments, he continues to be a reference for Romanian coaches working abroad. [4]

In addition to his coaching career, he currently serves as Technical Director of the Romanian Padbol Federation, where he oversees the development and certification of coaches in the emerging sport. He is also a university lecturer at the National University of Physical Education and Sport (UNEFS) in Bucharest and holds a PhD and a Postdoc in Physical Education, with his research focused on the biological and physical profiling of elite footballers.
