Desert Uniforms, Patches, and Insignia of the US Armed Forces is a reference book that provides a study of the uniforms and insignia worn by the US Armed Forces in battle from Desert Storm, through Somalia, and in the campaigns of Iraq and Afghanistan.

[edit]The book, which was published by Schiffer Publishing, is a reference of desert combat uniforms, patches and insignia worn by US military in various conflicts. With over 1,000 photos, the book covers information on US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard desert uniforms and patches. It is designed to provide a reference for veterans, historians, readers, collectors, and reenactors all around the world.[1]
Reception
[edit]The March 2017 issue of the Military Trader Magazine stated that the book was the "definitive" volume for collectors.[2]
The Trading Post, the quarterly journal of the American Society of Military Insignia Collectors, described the book as an "invaluable guide to the collector." [3]
The Fort Lee Traveler Newspaper reported, "In preparation for the book, [the authors] accumulated more than 1,000 government and theatre-made desert patches and over 300 uniforms.” [4]
