English: Yarrabah is on Cape Grafton, east of Cairns, The mission was settled in 1893 by the Anglican Church. In 1957, the Yarrabah residents staged a strike to protest poor working conditions, inadequate food, health problems and harsh administration and the Government of Queensland assumed control of the mission. The Yarrabah Aboriginal Community Council was established in 1986 and it became an Aboriginal Shire in 2005. Queensland State Archives Item ID 1367645
