English: Alaplı is situated at the mouth of the Alaplı River, it is in Zonguldak province, Turkey. It has a mosque that looked new, but was somewhat in the old wooden mosques style. That was about it, this is one of the pictures taken in 2007, during a short visit. For touristic purposes the town is not relevant.
By accident I noticed some fool put pictures of the Akçakoca mosque on a Russian website, claiming they were from Alapli. He even complained: “By the way, even Wikipedia is silent about this place.” Disinformation being the scourge of the web I warn people who want to see the Merkez Cami in Akçakoca not to travel to Alaplı.
