Koch, Lodge, Nakasone & Aime Image location: Pantiacolla Lodge, Manu Biosphere Reserve, Madre de Dios, Peru http://mushroomobserver.org/158474 Recognized by sight: Many thanks to Dr. Jean Lodge for her input on this observation : this fungus goes by the name of Rhizomorpha corynophora, but that is not a ‘good’ name, she pointed out. The name of this fungus is now Brunneocorticium corynecarpon.
