This photograph was released to the Public Domain by the Turkish Government and the Military as a free press kit promotional material and published and republished by various news publications and at various times via the Anadolu Agency and Interpress distribution with the current version last appearing on 15 September 1966 in Dunya Gazetesi, Istanbul, along with a news commentary by Ambassador to Turkey Sir Bernard Alexander Brocas Burrows KCMG (knight commander of St. Michael and St. George, member of the second highest rank of a British order of knighthood, 1910-2002).

The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use as:

1. it is a historically significant photo of famous individuals;
2. it is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality)
3. the photo is only being used for informational purposes.
4. Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the subject of this article and how the event depicted was very historically significant to the general public.
