File:Chipmunk mk22 wd347 arp.jpg

Original file (2,197 × 1,512 pixels, file size: 3.07 MB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

ex-RAF de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk 22 (RAF code WD347, former civil registration G-BBRV, now HB-TUT) at the Royal International Air Tattoo, Fairford, Gloucestershire, England. Built 1951.

Notes: The Chipmunk model built in the UK for the RAF is the T.10. When converted for civilian use it is called the Mk 22. On the internet some sites say this aircraft is a T.10 and some a Mk 22. However the official UK registration database at www.caa.co.uk (then click on G-INFO on the right hand side and look up G-BBRV) says it is a Mk 22.

Taken at RIAT Fairford on the Thursday before the weekend show days. Later both show days (Saturday and Sunday) were cancelled because of waterlogged car parks.

Photographed by Adrian Pingstone in July 2008 and placed in the public domain.
