Object history
Deutsch: Während der Feudalzeit, bis um 1800, zählte Rieden zur Herrschaft Bürresheim, die den Freiherren von Breitbach-Bürresheim gehörte. Die von Bürresheim führten in Rot sieben (4:3) zu zwei Balken gestellt goldene Rauten. Sie sind mit dem oberen Balken im Schildhaupt aufgenommen.

Kirchen- und Ortspatron von Rieden ist seit alters her der hl. Hubertus. Sein Attribut ist ein Jagdhorn. Als Hinweis auf den Ortspatron ist es im unteren Schildteil aufgenommen.

Rieden verfügte früher über eine bedeutende Steinindustrie. Als Hinweis darauf ist im vorderen Schildteil in der Mitte das Zunftzeichen der Steinmetze wiedergegeben.
