Summary

Description
English: Place: Guangzhou, Guangdong Province

Chinese name: 东风风神L60 (dōngfēng fēngshén L60) Year of launch: 2014

Dongfeng is the third largest Chinese maker of commercial vans and cheap MPVs after GM brands Wuling and Baojun and carmaker Changan. Dongfeng has many subsidiaries, which all operate under the Dongfeng umbrella: Dongfeng Fengshen (Aeolus) is the most high-end of the bunch, producing passenger cars including the Peugeot 508-based A9 and the funky new AX4. Dongfeng Fengdu produces its own version of the old Nissan X-Trail and two SUVs which are nearly identical to the SUVs of Dongfeng Fengshen. Dongfeng Sokon is the maker of very cheap commercial vans and is already active on the European market (DFSK). Dongfeng Fengguang and Dongfeng Fengxing fill the gap between Dongfeng Sokon on the one hand and Dongfeng Fengdu and Dongfeng Fengshen on the other. Dongfeng Fengguang is mostly aiming at the Wuling Hongguang and also produces a popular new cheap SUV as an alternative to the likes Changan CX70. Dongfeng Fengxing has a sedan, MPVs and large vans including one based on the late 1990s Mitsubishi Delica/Space Gear, while the Dongfeng Fengxing S500 and its rugged sibling SX6 are aiming at the Baojun 730 and Changan Oushang/Oushang A800/Linmax.

The Dongfeng Fengshen brand started with the S30 sedan and H30 hatchback. Both are derived from the Citroën Fukang (ZX) platform. The Dongfeng Fengshen A60 was launched in November 2011 and is based on a car from yet another JV partner of Dongfeng: the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. Export name for the Dongfeng Fengshen brand is Dongfeng Aeolus.

The Fengshen L60 was launched in 2014. It reached the market early 2015, when the market for local sedans already cooled down, so the market response to the L60 was poor to say the least with just over 10,000 sales in 34 months.
