Summary

Description
English: Statue by John Dowie, cast in aluminium, commissioned by the Hon. Alex Downer in memory of his father Sir John Downer, installed in Canberra 1964. It was restored and relocated in Garema Place in 1986. It depicts a father and son in embrace, the father holding aloft some glittering prize, perhaps a challenge to his son that one day it could be his.
