Summary
[edit]Description | This is an RPPC of a 1900s, early 20C house in Presque Isle- wish to list in hopes someone can identify it. Cannot find anything about it! Do not know if it still stands, what its use is/was, why would a photographer make this postcard??? I would like to put it on the Presque Isle page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presque_Isle,_Maine |

Author or copyright owner | Studio of Eastern Illustrating & Publishing, Belfast Maine |
Source (WP:NFCC#4) | Original publication: Made as a Real Photo Post Card early 20th Century Immediate source: I own it |
Date of publication | 1900s-1918 (has WWI Flag postmark cancellation) |
Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Presque Isle, Maine |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | This is an historic photo postcard of a Presque Isle house of interest back in the early part of the 20th Century. It is labelled "House of Seven Gables" which of course we know there is the more famous one in Salem Mass. I think this photo will be of interest to others, and perhaps someone can add the history to the story of Presque Isle. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) | I cannot believe there is any other image out there, I tried to find out about this house all over the web, using several meta search engines, to no avail. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | Would like it to go on the Presque Isle article, no other page for it |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) | Because Studio of Eastern Illustrating & Publishing, Belfast Maine, is now defunct, it operated 1905-1930, as near as I can tell |

This house is still standing on 3rd street, Presque Isle, Maine. Just Google Maps and type in 4 3Rd Street Presque Isle Maine. You will see a Light blue house with seven gables. You will also see the same house that is at the left of your photo. Carolyn Nadeau
