STEELE FOUGHT A BATTLE AT JENKINS FERRY ACROSS THE SALINE RIVER AND SUCCEEDED IN EXTRICATING HIS TROOPS AND MOST OF THEIR BAGGAGE SUCCESSFULLY. THIS PICTURE SHOWS THE FERRY CROSSING SITE IN THE STATE PARK
