Kozhukatta prepared in Payyappilly Palakkappilly Syro-Malabar family on a Kozhukatta Saturday. The dish is traditionally prepared by Saint Thomas Nasranis in Kerala on the Saturday before Oshana Sunday and the day is hence called Kozhukatta Saturday.
