English: Looking north along the high street, Great Abington The delightful twin villages of Great and Little Abington have a wealth of thatched timber framed cottages. Each village having its own ancient church, both confusingly dedicated to St Mary. The river Granta separates the two communities and was spanned by a rather severe hump-backed bridge. It was bombed during WW2 and subsequently replaced by a level one
