English: Luk sala (Thai script: ลูกสละ) is the Thai name for the fruit of a type of Salak Palm; it is sometimes also called "snakefruit". The taste of the fruit is somewhat musty, and somewhere in between dried bananas, jackfruit, and preserved dates. Luk rakam (Thai script: ลูกระกำ) is the fruit of another type of Salak Palm. It tends to be more rounded in shape compared to the luk sala. The taste of the luk rakam is also more watery.
