Wheeling, Morgantown, and Clarksburg have been circled because they were important cities for the organization of the regiment. Information based on a report from the George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War at Sheperd University in West Virginia.

The entire map can be found in the Library of Congress map. Its title is Johnson’s Virginia, Delaware and Maryland. It shows West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and portions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina.
