Summary

Description
English: The quadrune human brain, with animal metaphors that chart its evolutionary history. The brain stem and cerebellum are the oldest: Reptilian Brain (physical instincts) = Lizard Legacy. Next to evolve was our Old Mammalian Brain (social instincts) = Furry Li'l Mammal. Then our New Mammalian Brain (interpretive instincts) = Monkey Mind. Finally, our Advanced Brain (executive function and spiritual instincts) = Higher Porpoise. This characterization was co-created by Connie Barlow and Michael Dowd, and published in Dowd's book, Thank God for Evolution.
