Description
English: Historical "Blazoen" of a Chamber of Rhetoric, painted for the Haarlem council on the occasion of a lottery to build an old men's almshouse (currently the location of the Frans Hals Museum) in 1604-1606. Currently located in the clubhouse of the Haarlem society "Trou Moet Blycken". This blazoen representing the Haarlem chamber "De Pelikaan" with motto "Trou Moet Blycken" was designed by Hendrick Goltzius and painted by Frans Pietersz de Grebber.
