Christian Schybi, a peasant leader in the Swiss peasant war of 1653, is tortured and interrogated at Sursee, where he was beheaded on July 9, 1653 (Gregorian calendar). This 19th century engraving depicts Schybi in an allegory on the crucified Christ.
