English: The market is located in Samchuk district. It is a old market with almost 100 years old. Started from a small community and became the market of the district in 1917. In the past decade, the market was publicized with a slogan “Lively Market, Living Museum”. The community museum is at “Ban Khun Chumnong Jeenaruk” or Mr.Hui Sae Heng, a Chinese man born in Suphanburi in the reign of King Rama VII. At the entrance of the market, there is a big red postbox that is in a Victorian crowned-shaped. There is shrine of Samchuk city god or “Jea Pung Toa Kong” inside the market, which was built in 1924. Presently, the surrounding area still features traditional ways of living and old wooden buildings. Food and desserts, as well as other products, offered here are entirely from genuine attention, not from imitation, to foster such a long and distinguished culture. The famous food are fish sausage, nougat, soybean pudding and fish ball noodle soup. In 2009, UNESCO declared the market “the Award of Merit” a world heritage site in the category: Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
