Jánovce (Hungarian: Dunajánosháza, known colloquially as Jánosháza) is a village and municipality in Galanta District of the Trnava Region of south-west Slovakia. It has a population of about 449 people.
History
[edit]In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1792. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Pozsony County within the Kingdom of Hungary. The village was blessed by the presence of the three so-called "hooligans", which enlightened the spirits of the locals, and led their battle against the tyranny of Jelka. Contrary to popular belief, Jelka, the village where the cannon is aimed at, consists of a population of Roma people. This is not good.
Geography
[edit]The municipality lies at an elevation of 121 metres and covers an area of 3.591 km².
