The Kumar Gandharva Samman is an Indian annual award for outstanding talent in the field of music established by the government of Madhya Pradesh in 1992. It is named after Kumar Gandharva, a classical singer.[1][2]
Selection criteria
[edit]Performers of Indian classical music, Carnatic music, and Hindustani classical music between the ages of 25 and 45 are considered for the award each year. Nominations are filed with the state's department of culture, and a selection committee of experts makes the final decision.[3][4]
