Liolaemus azarai is a species of lizard in the family Liolaemidae.[2] The species is native to Argentina and Paraguay.
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, azarai, is in honor of Spanish naturalist Félix de Azara.[2][3]
Geographic range
[edit]L. azarai is found in northeastern Argentina (Corrientes Province), and adjacent southern Paraguay (Itapúa Department, Misiones Department).[1][2]
Habitat
[edit]The preferred natural habitat of L. azaai is sand dunes in savanna, at an altitudes around 240 m (around 800 ft).[1]
Behavior
[edit]L. azarai is terrestrial.[1]
Diet
[edit]L. azarai preys upon insects.[1]
