  • Turkey Eastern Turkey was struck by a magnitude 6.4 quake that occurred on May 1 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi).[45] 177 people were killed, more than 1,000 injured and extensive damage across the Bingöl area. Tremors were felt in much of eastern Turkey.[46]
