Mateo Maraš[1] (born 17 December 2000) is a Croatian handball player for MOL Tatabánya KC and for the Croatian national team.

He represented Croatia at the 2022 European Men's Handball Championship.[2]

Career

Club

Mateo started his career in the RK Balic-Metlicic team from Split. From there he was confirmed by the Macedonian RK Eurofarm Pelister in 2020.[3] There were other offers as well: from RK Zagreb, RK Celje, Ademar León and Fenix Toulouse Handball, but he decided on Pelister's offer. He spent 2 years here, and then the Hungarian front team signed a contract with MOL Tatabánya KC, who bought him from Pelister.[4]

National team

On April 28, 2021, he played for the first time in the Croatia men's national handball team against Slovakia and scored 4 goals. He represented Croatia at the 2022 European Men's Handball Championship.[2] He was included in the large squad of the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship.[5]
