The Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) (Russian: Российская коммунистическая партия (Большевиков), romanized: Rossiyskaya Kommunisticheskaya Partiya (Bolshevikov); RCP(b)) is a Trotskyist organization in Russia, created in July of 2018. A communist party of the Marxist-Leninist persuasion, which sets itself the task of supporting and protecting the proletariat of the Russian Federation and transferring power to them through the Revolution and the creation of a socialist state. The party is also engaged in supporting and organizing revolutionary movements in other states, pursuing its main goal - the World Revolution.[1]
History of the RCP(b)
[edit]The organization appeared in 2020 from a community created in 2018. Until 2021, the organization was focused on Stalin and his policies, but in 2021 it began to change its views - criticism of Mao, Stalin, and Fidel Castro began. At the same time, activity began on the streets, participation in actions, agitation of workers, debunking myths about Trotsky, popular among the Russian left. Until November 16, 2021, the Stalinist wing remained in the party, but they voluntarily left the party. The participation of moderate Stalinists is allowed in the party.
There are many students and former/active military personnel in the organization itself, thanks to which militarism remains to a certain extent in the party, members of the organization receive military skills in addition to knowledge of Marxism.
Starting in 2022, the RCP(b) was subjected to repression because it criticized the attack on Ukraine. Its founder, Dmitry Ivanov, was arrested, and therefore the organization was dissolved for 3 months.[2]
Since October 2022, nationalists and social-chauvinists have regularly written denunciations against the RCP(b) and its leader to law enforcement agencies. Their goal is to fight the left opposition. At the moment, there is a threat of criminal prosecution of the leadership of the RCP(b) by the Russian authorities."[3]
Organization's activities
[edit]The organization is still in the process of building a full-fledged, extensive organization, but the organization is already engaged in activities; for example, many articles have already been written on various topics, such as the History and Activities of the Russian Trotskyists, criticism of Stalin’s ideology and regime. Members of the organization glue leaflets, participate in protests, and agitate among workers.[4]
Finnish branch of the party
[edit]The RCP(b) has its own national branch in Finland by the name of Socialist Workers' Party of Finland, which was founded by a man under the pseudonym Smilga in January of 2021. The branch is also still at the organizational stage.[5]
Ukrainian branch of the party
[edit]In the process of formation, the Ukrainian branch of the party is the Ukrainian Communist Party of the Bolsheviks (UKP(b)), which aims to fight the fascization of Ukraine and liberate its Homeland from the capitalists of both the West and Russia.
