Szarajówka [ʂaraˈjufka] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łukowa, within Biłgoraj County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) west of Łukowa, 22 km (14 mi) south-east of Biłgoraj, and 100 km (62 mi) south of the regional capital Lublin.
History
[edit]During the Nazi occupation of Poland, on May 18, 1943, from 58 to 67 inhabitants of Szarajówka, including numerous women and children, were massacred by the German punitive expedition.[2]
