races
[edit]Prehaps we should add the different races to this template. Yahel Guhan 08:22, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- I removed them. We cannot categorize peoples according to the various and marginal views of others. cygnis insignis 09:40, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Race is categorization, and it makes no sense to have a race template that doesn't mention the categorization by races, no matter how marginal the categorization is. The articles do exist after all. They should be mentioned for that reason. Yahel Guhan 04:51, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- IMO, race is an ongoing study and it was almost taboo for Science after many racist-fueled wars... because of this, currently there's no widely accepted races. This template is more to inform readers of this ongoing debate.--Esteban Barahona (talk) 03:07, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

The first section has zero references. Please add an accurate source or remove that section. 173.121.87.174 (talk) 20:36, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- Not done: You requesting a change on the navigation template Template:Race and not on an article. Please repeat your question on the correct talk page. Regards, mabdul 13:01, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
It's probably best to do without images on such a general-purpose template.
[edit]General navigation templates such as this one are best kept as lists of wikilinks, without additional images. This is especially true for a topic such as the topic of this template, about which reliable sources make clear that as the scientific understanding of the topic has developed, many images associated with the topic are no longer considered representative or data-based. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 16:28, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Who is ready to discuss template edits with sources, considering the navigation purposes of this template?
[edit]I see there have been a bunch of edits to this template recently. Who is ready to join discussion here on the template talk page of what links belong on the template, what the template is for, and any other issues? We should refer to reliable sources and Wikipedia policies and guidelines to resolve any editor disagreements about what to do. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 21:39, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Race -> Racialism/Race & Racialism
[edit]There is extensive debate about the concept of race. To reflect this I believe it would be more appropriate to name this template "Racialism" to show that it is a debatable idea and not necessarily a fact of nature. However I do foresee that this may raise trouble with people edit warring or something, because anything with the word "race" in it seems controversial. So a name like "Race and Racialism" could be a good compromise. I would like to hear opinions on this. Given that this is a template talk page and views tend to be low, I'll wait for now with bold editing until a reasonable time has passed. AlwaysUnite (talk) 20:51, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Could [[Race (human classification)|Classification]]
be changed to [[Race (human categorization)|Categorization]]
to conform to the name of the article? Thanks, 207.161.217.209 (talk) 20:53, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello. in the illustration of Uncle Sam holding up his rebellious children: the 4th and final figure is the Ladronei, or the Ladrones, an old name for the Marianas Islands. Not whatever 2 word babble is current listed in the description. Could you please change this? It can easily be verified by a Google search on "Ladronei" Thank you! 68.5.23.158 (talk) 01:05, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- Not done. I have no idea what you're referring to, but it isn't this template, which is simply a navbar for topics about race. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 02:53, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
