Template talk:Records

January 2007

[edit]

Should this be changed into just a "World Record template" and not just specifically human records? Remember 14:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did a lot of the ground work on this template, so I own it and will resist any change... muahahahahaha.... erm, sorry - not sure what came over me there.
The idea is that this template is not just for 'World' records, but also for records explictely *not* world records - those of individual countries or competitions - for instance Olympic Records. Therefore I'd rather we didn't use a name of 'world records'.
When I first was writing it I needed a name for the template, and thought 'Records' was a little too short, so I came up with the admittedly slightly awkward 'Records of Human Achievement' - if you can think of a better way of saying 'records of lots of things - sport, countries competions and some other stuff' then any change would be great! --Neo 18:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think records works fine. Let me know what you think of the recent changes. Remember 19:02, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Its looking good, however now its of a fairly large size would it be sensible to introduce the 'hide' feature? I mean the thing whereby the template is collapsed by default, and can be expanded when people wish to use it... [I'd do it myself, but I don't know how!] --Neo 20:50, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, but I also don't know how to do this. Remember 21:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I finally got around to doing this - opinions? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NeilTarrant (talkcontribs) 18:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]
I like it (except I was never a big fan of the color). But great job!!! Remember 20:52, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Based upon a suggestion by the user 86.134.114.137 on the page world record, this template can now be added to a page in two ways, {{records}} for the default, hidden version, or {{records|state=expand}} for the expanded version. --Neo 10:02, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
