Template talk:Weapons of Hungary

note by the creator

[edit]

Copy from Template talk:WWIIHungarianAFVs i dont think its notable. hungary hardly made more afvs than its on the template already. and because our other weapons also arent that numerous to make this unfeasible, i have just made an unified (by age and by weapon category) hungarian weapon and military equipment template. i *REALLY* think that it will be both enough, and better -- showing more related topics which may interest the reader; and not making tons of fucking little templates with 3-4 entries, sorted by eras (ww2, postwww2, pre ww1 etc), and weapon types...

main point made above. pls do not divide this template, or worse, do not delete it outright. im convinced that

  • groups of 3-5 of weapons do not deserve an own mini-template on their own. (ok not sure on this one anymore ;p after reading it again... well why not)
  • its better if visitor of page sees all of this not just the tightest related at the bottom of the page.
  • its better to have this template even if its unusual or dont comply with the template traditions, than to have all those pages, which are quite numerous together, completely templateless.
  • NOTICE TO FUTURE EDITORS WHO WILL USE THIS TEMPLATE!!!!!1one! -- also, i believe one should only put this template to the genuine hungarian-designed weapons's page, or to be more accurate (because what to do the above description if it is based on a foreign design but only hungary used it and the article is clearly about the hungarian one), those which mostly and primarily associated with hungary) -- by now i guess you noted that it includes many licence-manufactured weapons, whats more foreign-made weapons in one of its group. (do not delete that section too, it belongs there. ww2 german wps also had it and i think it fit there greatly.) do not use this template on them, please :) why? i believe it would be disrupting and awkward there (esp. as i made it open by default -- on the typical short articles of this subject it looks better), and would also suggest that its main user or designer was hungary while in truth we were only minor users of them.

ok again forgot down the sig -_- --User:Aaa3-other (lol had to add this maanually, for some reason auto-sig since sometime corrupts my sig :S :( -aaa3- (other) 14:57, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i found a particularly nice template which, in case of this one would have grown too big one could use as a pattern for transforming it -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:WWIIBritishAFVs --Aaa3-other | Talk | Contribs 18:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
