The Ugliest Woman in the World (Spanish: La mujer más fea del mundo)[1] is a 1999 Spanish science fiction comedy film directed by Miguel Bardem from a screenplay by Nacho Faerna which stars Elia Galera and Roberto Álvarez.

Plot

The plot is set in a futuristic 2011 Madrid, capital of the 3rd (Spanish) Republic.[2] Extremely ugly woman Lola Otero is transformed into a beauty in the wake of an experiment carried out by a mad scientist, thereby going into a killing rampage to take revenge for all the humilliations she has suffered.[3]

Release

The film was presented at the 32nd Sitges Film Festival in October 1999.[2] It was released theatrically in Spain on 5 November 1999.[5]
