A barnstar for you!
[edit]The Original Barnstar | |
Thank you for straightening out one of my very awkward English formulations. The one that brought you this star was in the article Almeric de Courcy, 23rd Baron Kingsale. Keep up the good work! Best regards User:Johannes Schade |

Some things you should know
[edit]I understand that you want to be constructive, but some of your edits, usually regarding hatnotes and disambiguation pages do not fit WP:MOS guidelines. For example, you added a hatnote linking to Harold Williamson (disambiguation) on the page for Harold Sandys Williamson, even though it should not be there per WP:NOTAMB. I just don't want to have to keep removing unnecessary hatnotes. GilaMonster536 (talk) 00:29, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I would dispute that it is an unnecessary hatnote as in the art literature, or at least in the volumes on my bookshelf, the artist in question is referred to Harold Williamson as often as Harold Sandys Williamson so the hatnote is, potentially at least, of some use. Likewise your removal of content from the Nutt page is of no help to anyone. Placing format over content is rarely a constructive approach. I appreciate you are a relatively new editor but please be aware editing WP is as much about judging what is most useful to the readers in a particular situation as enforcing a suite of rules. In good faith and with best regards, 14GTR (talk) 06:09, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Ok thanks. GilaMonster536 (talk) 16:05, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I also noticed that sometimes when you link to disambiguation pages with a pipe (the "|"), even if the target page's name already ends with "disambiguation." Just noting that this is not necessary and makes it look like you're linking back to the same page. For example, you did this on Andrew Sinclair's page. [edit]ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
