Requested input
[edit]Hey there. I noticed you have previously made edits to Ariaz, and that you also have experience in editing similar articles. I'd like to ask for your input to a discussion on the article talk page here. Thanks, Alex (talk) 20:28, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
The South Korean articles like US articles
[edit]I need your answer my question, why the almost all South Korean article on Wikipedia use American date Format (MDY Format) like US articles rather than British date format (DMY Format) ? 111.94.202.92 (talk) 15:08, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that I do not definitively know why we use MDY, other than that was how the article was originally created, do not change the format without consensus. Abdotorg (talk) 15:10, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
Example BoA first article created originally use British date format (DMY Format) at 2003 by Angela, on 2004 change American date Format (MDY Format) look like US articles by Emperorbma 111.94.202.92 (talk) 15:38, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
Check these drafts
[edit]Hi Abdotorg. I am new and still learning. I have made some korean actors and actress drafts. Can you check and published it. If there's anything you can tell me. Here are the drafts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.43.32.93 (talk) 16:32, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- First off almost all of the sources used for reference in the first listing are unreliable, namely soompi, and I am pretty sure hancinema is a database so we don't use that either, please see WP:KO/RS. These articles do look good though! Just make sure you are referencing every single role and put the ref in the table instead of the prose. Abdotorg (talk) 16:34, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
Really. I saw some articles which had sources from soompi and i will remove the soompi sources and i will leave the hancinema because it's reliable, but i look around for more and i will put the references in the table. Thank you.
- I am afraid soompi is considered unreliable, I would also remove hancinema while you are at it. I am more than happy to help look for sources. Abdotorg (talk) 16:49, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. That's very kind of you. I will also try to look for the sources. Thank you for helping me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.43.32.93 (talk) 16:56, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi Abdotorg. I removed the unreliable sources and added the reliable sources. Can you check them and published it. If there's anything tell me. Thank you.(39.43.52.148 (talk) 17:24, 23 February 2020 (UTC))
Twice
[edit]Thanks for that. My quick search was unreliable and there has been much disruption on the Republic Records page hence my edit. Robvanvee 15:26, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
New drafts
[edit]Hello Abdotorg. I made some new drafts with reliable sources. Here they are.
If there's anything tell me. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.43.60.44 (talk) 10:24, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Hello Abdotory. I improved the sources and did some work on all drafts can you check all of them and publish them. Abdotory one actress died and i made a draft of Go Soo-jung, see if i made it correctly. Thank you. (39.43.79.159 (talk) 18:06, 15 March 2020 (UTC))
Hi. Would you mind helping to improve the Map of the Soul: 7 album article? Thank you.--Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 06:25, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]Hi Abdotorg. Can you rename those all drafts like this.
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.43.15.123 (talk) 07:29, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Abdotorg,
It's really nice to see you made changes to my editing on EXO's page. I saw you deleted what I just added. May I kindly ask why do you think my addition cannot be passed? Thank you, and I'm looking forward to your reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GuoMusic (talk • contribs) 02:15, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, so your addition was a copy pasted statement from SM which has no place in the article, please only add content if Exo has done something/have upcoming activities - also Chen's private life belongs on his own article. Alongside this please see WP:KO/RS as soompi is not a reliable source. Abdotorg (talk) 15:15, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
Xiuminiscule saying Hi
[edit]Hello Abdotorg,
I noticed that you reverted my edits on the Verivery page concerning member positions (even though it is nearly identical to the ONEUS page members section, but that one is allowed to remain)? Would like some clarification on this discrepancy. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by XiuMiniscule (talk • contribs) 07:52, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
- Please provide a reliable source for member positions. Abdotorg (talk) 13:33, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

You're fast! Imagine my suprise when I write Aina the End, leave for five minutes, and come back to a much tidier-looking discography section! Freaked me out when I thought I somehow wrote a duplicate article. Keep up the good work! ◢ Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 15:57, 16 April 2020 (UTC) |
- Oh shoot, I didn't realize you were already working on a draft for the same person. I tend to write career sections quite concisely, so feel free to integrate parts of your draft into the article. ◢ Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 16:07, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Clarification on Naver sources
[edit]Hi ab, as far as I understand, Naver sources, such as this and especially under the "News" section, can be used as reference. However, I was just recently informed that they are actually unreliable sources. So I just wanted to clarify if we could use Naver sources at all. Thanks Heolkpop (talk) 13:23, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
Revisions on Draft: Treasure (band)
[edit]Hi! I would like to inquire why you removed my edits for the Treasure (band) articles? Specifically on the 2020 part where I included the Billboard Social 50 news? I would like to clarify why the recent news will be deleted when it is an important part in the recognition of the band.
Thank you.

JO1
[edit]You need to read the official profile of JO1 much more before you do any edition. And your order is wrong according to the official website. So if you stop any edition in this article seems much constructive to JO1. Many thanks, and do stop editing. And here is the official profile of JO1, https://jo1.jp/profile/list. Read it, please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wayneliuuuuuu (talk • contribs) 17:46, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
- Firstly we do not follow an official website profile, that is a primary source - Wikip uses secondary sources. Also please note that Names should [First name] followed by [Last name] per Wikip's Japanese name consensus. Abdotorg (talk) 17:52, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
But if there is the official data to proof the order of member, the order of the name-writing, as the info collector for wiki, you need to follow the official uses. And I know the [first name last name] format of course, but as I said many times if there is the official version please follow it. As the details in the member list, all can be proofed by the official. For a kpop/ jpop group, it is indeed important. So please kindly stop any further editing. Many thanks.
- I'm afraid that details such as blood type, member colour, height, weight and birth place are considered trivial and will be removed. You have to follow Wikipedia guidelines and consensus. Abdotorg (talk) 19:11, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
June 2020
[edit]Please refrain from reverting my edits regarding the article for D.O./Doh Kyungsoo. I have only corrected the table previously as it was messed up by some editors and updated information on the acting and recognition and military service section. Thank you.Dohk547 (talk) 18:33, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- Regarding your edits: There is generally a dash (-) midway through the forename in Korean language names on Wikip, the references you added are not from reliable sources (Soompi, Korea Film, Vlive) and categories belong at the bottom of the article. Abdotorg (talk) 18:37, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
Noted on the dash. The Vlive article is posted by an Osen news outlet.. if this is not enough, I have another reference to add into it from a Naver article from Herald pop. The categories... You could have simply moved it your own and corrected the other minor things. If you have further issues with the next edit, would appreciate it if we can discuss it in a more mannerly way before proceeding to make changes passively. Thank you. member timeline
[edit]hello:) Why are you deleting the member timeline? --아드리앵 (talk) 17:43, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- The groups you have added timelines to do not require timelines - timelines are useful for groups that have had multiple departures and multiple new additions. On the other hand the history section of these articles already has such information listed in prose. Abdotorg (talk) 17:47, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- It is difficult to find in all the articles, especially the timeline of the five groups is useful with multiple withdrawals. --아드리앵 (talk) 17:51, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
EXO has multiple inactive, multiple departures and multiple 군입대. --아드리앵 (talk) 17:57, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- Exo is arguably an exception if you are including enlistment periods, but the other groups you added timelines to are definitely not needed especially SNSD, Red Velvet and F(x), also since three TVXQ members left at the same time it is fine to have this just included in the history section instead of timeline format. Abdotorg (talk) 18:12, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nope. SNSD has multiple departures from SM. Red Velvet has one new addition like Super Junior. (and inactive wendy). F(x) has multiple inactive (2011 amber, sulli). And Whether they left at the same time or not, TVXQ has multiple departures. Regardless of the standards you put forward. If there is any change in members, the timeline is very useful. --아드리앵 (talk) 18:26, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- In SNSD's case the members who parted ways with SM Ent. are still considered members - that does not require a timeline, it is explained in the history section. Red Velvet has one addition and no departures this does not warrant a timeline (Super Junior's timeline is primarily to show military service, not Kyuhyun's addition). F(x) has had one member leave, this also does not warrant a timeline at all. In TVXQ's case a timeline is unnecessary, this part in the history section alone is fine - there is no need for a timeline here. Abdotorg (talk) 18:29, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- The reason why Oh!GG was issued is the contract issue. So require a SNSD's timeline. RV has member change. So require a RV's timeline. The Pussycat Dolls's case in history section alone is fine. But they has timeline. So require a TVXQ's timeline. As Amber was inactive in 2011, F(x) moved into a four-girl group. So, There is no guarantee that there should be no timeline. --아드리앵 (talk) 18:39, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- If there's no more reason why the timeline doesn't exist, I'll add it. --아드리앵 (talk) 09:56, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- I have explained several reasons not to add a timeline to specific articles - though you are more than welcome to add one to the Exo article assuming no other editor has a problem with it. Abdotorg (talk) 12:56, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- I also told you many reasons to add. A timeline that represents a member change for the reader will be very useful to understand. :) --아드리앵 (talk) 14:05, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- I realise that showing member changes in timeline form may be helpful, but again, in the case of Red Velvet a timeline with one bar having a different add-in point is pretty pointless. And SNSD has their own article for Oh!GG, that does not need representing in the main article. With F(x) Amber was never inactive for an official comeback and Sulli's departure is similar to the pointless difference Yeri's timeline bar is going to make. My point is: Wikipedia is here to have things written in prose(!) not lists and timelines. Abdotorg (talk) 14:13, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- You don't have to worry because the timeline for the event will be strictly displayed according to the policy. Under the policy, the timeline will explain events and changes, which will be very helpful. --아드리앵 (talk) 14:25, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Revision on Winwin's Wikipedia Page
[edit]Hi, thank you for your input. However, I have properly researched everything I put in the Wikipedia. I also personally translated many articles and video interviews in order to get accurate information. Please do not make any more changes to the article unless it's to update his milestones as an artist. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Threesixnine369 (talk • contribs) 13:00, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- As I said in my edit summary: some if not all of the sources you have included in your revision are unreliable. Also variety show guesting is not listed on Wikipedia. Abdotorg (talk) 13:02, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
I would also like to apologize if it seems like I do not respect your contribution on his page. I read everything that you read. And while I am thankful for your contribution, I have to let you know that you got a few things wrong. For example, you wrote that SM Entertainment tried scouting him for 2 years before he accepted their offer. However, his official Baidu page only stated that the agent scouted him twice and this was in 2015. I am sorry once again if it seems like I am trying to start an edit war with you. I'm still new to Wikipedia and was not aware that that situation was even possible. I kindly ask that you read what I have written on his page and go through the links I have referenced. Thank you and have a blessed day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Threesixnine369 (talk • contribs) 13:12, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Why is variety show guesting not allowed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Threesixnine369 (talk • contribs) 13:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- On your first comment: I have not personally written this article, if there is any problem with the content please address this on the article's talk page. And on your second: your revision will still be reverted, not only because guesting is irrelevant and encyclopedic, but because your sourcing is extremely unreliable, namely Soompi, Baidu and Kpopmap. Abdotorg (talk) 13:19, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Why did you delete my edit on Seventeen page?
[edit]Hello. I would like to ask about the Seventeen page I edited. I know I put twitter as reference but they are their official accounts so I don't know how you can get more relevant sources than that. I also looked for translations from many articles, interviews, and official statements from Pledis to get accurate information. I don't get why you have to delete the entire thing while only some contains twitter references. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BarbaraUkulele (talk • contribs) 12:29, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, Ab is out right now so I can help you instead. Unfortunately, due to the deleteability of tweets, these are not accepted as sources, even if they are from Pledis' own account. Nor are youtube videos from official accounts, or sources from soompi or allkpop. Furthermore, a lot of the edits, while valid (I know they're correct as much as you do) are actually considered trivia, and not eligible for wikipedia. Some details (like Woozi's creation of Downpour) would be acceptable on an individual member's page (provided it was in a table), but others are considered trivial, which we try to keep off the pages as much as possible. Winwin
[edit]Hi, may I please know what I did wrong? I cited everything correctly and used news articles that are also referenced in NCT 127, NCT and WayV's wikipedia pages. Is it perhaps the bullet points? If you could please let me know what I can do to fix it?
- Hello, so pages on Wikip must be written in prose (informative and detailed paragraphs), not bullet points. Abdotorg (talk) 17:19, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Hi, I fixed everything as requested. There are no more bullet points and everything has been written in prose. If there's anything else I can fix please kindly tell me :) Thank you!
E'LAST
[edit]Hello, Could you please explain why did you choose to remove all my edits ? There are still mispellings in the members's names and some info came from E Entertainment offical website. I also used same sources as the creator of this page. Let me know, thanks.
- Hello, your edit was undone because of the trivial table you created in the members section. I have restored Baekgyeul's name for you. Abdotorg (talk) 17:50, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I will submit new modifications soon, i hope you will find it relevant. Have a good day.
0630 - Hello !! That's me again ! What about the fandom section ? I wish we could add info about this but i have no idea about why it's still irrelevant. I've seen you noticed it as "WP:FANCRUFT" but in others gmusic group wikipedia pages, fandom are named. Can you explain me the differences ? Thanks a lot !
- Hello, so fandoms are simply considered irrelevant to the encyclopedia - see the BTS article for example, there is no mention of "army" in there. Abdotorg (talk) 10:47, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello i want to ask why did you reverted all of my changes? So that i can do it right with sources, can you tell me what is wrong? Also with pictures, if its included in official tweets, can i use it? The wikipedia for ren is not updated so i want to update it as in 2020. Thankyou. Glxrypxth (talk) 19:36, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, your edits were reverted because of the addition of guest appearances on tv shows, we do not include guesting of any sort on Wikip. I have just further removed more. Feel free to edit the article without including this. Abdotorg (talk) 19:41, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
How about the picture on the infobox? Can i use dispatch or other news site pics? Or can i use official pics they uploaded on twitter? Glxrypxth (talk) 20:35, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- Images that are copyrighted such are your examples cannot be used I am afraid. Abdotorg (talk) 20:36, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Timeline display error?
[edit]Hi, thanks for adding the timeline at CY8ER. Right now, there's two lines extending left that are obscuring Rinahamu's name. Is that intentional? I've never dealt with making timelines, so I'm not quite sure. ◢ Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 15:11, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

music video appearances
[edit]Hi, I've seen you have removed my edit of music video appearances in the article Hyungwon again, and you said that appearing in a music video is not notable. As I have seen other artists have their appearances in other artist's music videos listed, I was wondering if you could link to me the rule on this, so that I understand what the rule around this is and can apply it consistently going forward? Nangears (talk) 16:00, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, so there is no official consensus on this to link you to, but basically appearing in a music video is not at all notable, it is the equivalent of guesting. MV appearances listed in other articles should not be there. Abdotorg (talk) 16:11, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, that makes sense, I didn't know about the rule around guesting for variety shows. Could you link me to the rule on guesting, as in the specific case of Hyungwon, he is one of two leads in the music video, so I don't know that it really qualifies as guesting? I can see how minor background appearances could be viewed as guesting, such as Shownu's appearance in Sistar's "Shake It", but in this case I don't know that it is appropriate. Nangears (talk) 16:26, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Here is the variety show guesting consensus. I still think appearing in a music video has no place in a Wikip article - like if it was a key part in TV drama then it makes sense to include it but a music video is not all that big of a deal. Abdotorg (talk) 16:30, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- I would say it is still more equivalent to a small acting role, rather than a guest appearance in a variety show. If the appearance puts the screentime of the person appearing at a similar level to that of the main singer/group whose MV it is, I feel that it is significant enough of an appearance that it should be more on level with a role in a TV show, rather than be treated as a cameo (or guesting). Yes, overall the appearance isn't long, as MVs are around 3-5 minutes, but that doesn't mean MVs themselves are insignificant, so if there is significant screentime for someone starring in it, I think it is not a trivial mention to include it in their individual page. Nangears (talk) 16:50, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Since there is not a clear rule, is it maybe best to include significant appearances in MVs in the main text of the article, rather than including every appearance in a list in their filmography, as this would limit the listing of trivial facts and keep only what is significant to the individual (and help keep it clear that it is a significant appearance by way of prose explanation?) Nangears (talk) 17:04, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) The problem comes with that is what makes this music video appearance significant? Did he gain significant attention because of the video? Was he unknown before the music video, and did his career receive a significant boost because of his appearance? Simply being in a music video is not notable. There's also sourcing to consider. Was it widely reported by multiple reliable sources? A lot of the time music video appearances are added to articles either completely unsourced or with the YouTube video itself as a source. If an appearances is going to be included in the article at all, it must be reliably sourced and at least show some significance. Wikipedia shouldn't be treated like a resume to list everything he's done. Mentioning who was in the video should be something that's on the song's article, if one exist for it. Alex (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- I did agree that the music video appearance should be significant (so I understand deleting Shownu's MV appearance in Sistar's MV as it more is like a cameo or guest appearance within the Starship family), but in the specifics of Hyungwon's page it was sourced, and several more articles could be found on the subject, and while I don't know if this appearance alone should be credited with this, but he gained praise for his acting in this MV and then had his first acting role the following year, so I would say it is significant. Nangears (talk) 17:26, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Your revert on Varsity
[edit]There are no other information available apart from those given directly by their own label(s)!
Varsity is not (and likely never will be) a popular group. The tweets I've cited to and the post from the OFFICIAL FANCAFE of Varsity are the only sources - uNrElIaBlE or not. Not every small label out there has its own web site or gets covered by local news.

- (talk page watcher) @Momo17: if you cannot find a reliable source, you should not be adding it to Wikipedia. Doesn't matter how (un)popular a group is. Alex (talk) 14:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Alexanderlee: So a official statement from their label is considered not a reliable source? Okay then. Makes perfect sense 🙃 --Momo17 (talk) 18:53, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Momo17:, no, that would be a [[WP:PRIMARY|primary source}}. If articles rely on primary sources, it becomes a problem. Alex (talk) 19:14, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

deletion on bts/suga /rm influences
[edit]why did you delete the statments? these are legimate mentions made by the artists themselves from the radio. if formatting of the citation is the issue, you shouldve fix the citation, not deleting the wholr statement which is true. Junilein (talk) 18:13, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, so your edit on RM's article does not cite a reliable source, and your edits on Suga and BTS' articles cite YouTube instead of news sources. Abdotorg (talk) 18:24, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

McCune-Reischauer romanisation
[edit]McCune-Reischauer romanisation of consonants changes based on the position within a word, and ㅈ is generally voiced in the middle of a word, so it gets romanised as "j" not "ch". The exceptions are where ㅈ appears after non-nasal consonants like ㄱ or ㄷ (e.g. RR gukjagam = MR kukchagam) or where some specific phonological process is at play (e.g. tensification where the second syllable of a word could also stand alone as an unbound morpheme, as in RR hanja = MR hancha - such cases are unusual and so specifically noted in dictionaries). This is all explained at McCune–Reischauer#Consonants (referenced from the edit summary) and mentioned to you before. Also, per WP:REVONLY, If you object to only part of an edit, consider reverting only that part and leaving the rest alone

Soumu Page
[edit]hi i am Victon7. Beforehand I want to explain why some information was deleted on the "Source Music" page. 1. About Glam = Why am I removing this because Glam is not part of Source Music * GFriend is Source Music's first artist * so glam is part of bighit not source music 2. For Repair and Editing Thank You: D Victon7 (talk) 17:46, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- I just checked sources and Glam was definitely co-managed by Big Hit and Source, there is no good reason to be removing this information. Abdotorg (talk) 18:51, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- may i ask for the reference? Victon7 (talk) 18:56, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know if you can read Hangul but the first sentence of the first paragraph of this article basically reads as "On the 25th, Source Music and Big Hit officially announced the debut of their new girl group Glam for July 16." (쏘스뮤직과 빅히트 엔터테인먼트는 25일, 걸그룹 ‘GLAM’의 7월 16일 데뷔를 공식 발표했다). Abdotorg (talk) 19:02, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

okay I will still put glam in the "history" in the 2009-2015 Timeline, and Enter the acquisition history with bighit in the 2015-present timeline then I'll add GFriend images in the 2015-present Timeline Victon7 (talk) 11:47, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

[edit]why did you say there's no notability on the winter page i created
- Winter fails WP:NMG (please read these guidelines before creating any further articles), she has not even debuted yet. She most likely will not pass Wikip notability guidelines until she releases music as a solo artist or delves into acting. Abdotorg (talk) 17:09, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

TXT discog redirect
[edit]Unless there's a bunch of super technical stuff involved in correcting this type of redirect issue, is this not something that I could have fixed myself? I realized a little while ago my mistake with the capitalization and went to move the page/fix the redirects but I got the error notice and eventually came across your request. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 20:41, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- I also attempted to move the page myself but as you said their was an error notice because the correct article title is already a redirect. It is much easier to just put in a move request than to manually move it yourself which is not recommended, the request itself should not take too long to be completed. Abdotorg (talk) 20:53, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oh ok. I was curious because I honestly thought it was an easy fix to just edit the redirects and all that, but np. Have a good day! -- Carlobunnie (talk) 20:59, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

- Things like this should be written in prose (pending notability). I also removed the section from the Ab6ix article because as I said it needs to be in prose (detailed, well sourced paragraphs - not a table). Abdotorg (talk) 19:14, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Sunmi
[edit]Hello. Please do not refer to a subject that has been acknowledged by multiple industry experts as "ridiculous". And do not revert my changes with that motivation anymore. I will be writing it back.
Sunmi's Wikipedia page without a Sunmi-pop section is incomplete and doesn't describe her music fully. If you don't like it, that's not your place to write it on Wikipedia. Union920502 (talk) 19:52, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Union920502: "I will be writing it back" before you do, I suggest you have a read through WP:BRD. You made a bold edit with a pretty large addition, an editor has reverted you, so now take it to the talk page to discuss and seek consensus. Alex (talk) 20:07, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you Alex. I would do that if the motivation for reverting my edit actually made sense. The editor didn't provide any acceptable reason except their own personal opinion, which I'm sure goes against the rules.
My edit is actually a week old and had been approved by previous editors already.
Thanks. Union920502 (talk) 20:19, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Union920502: regardless of the motivation, you should discuss. Especially with such a large edit. Also note that an editor not earlier challenging your edit doesn't mean it has been "approved" by editors. Alex (talk) 20:26, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Hanteo
[edit]Hello,
Just wondering why Hanteo is irrelevant? A lot of Music Shows uses Hanteo as a way to determine weekly champions. And Gaon is the chart that gets used for yearly awards. And since weekly wins are added to the albums accolades, it should be considered important. Dumdumchit (talk) 15:03, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

And you jumped in after just 6 minutes. I can see you're an experienced editor like me, but I'm afraid this type of heavy handed reverting is the kind of thing that puts people off from editing Wikipedia. You could at least have added the notability template and gven me (or anyone else) to have a discussion about it. [edit]Hello, I’m sorry but I would like to know why you deleted what I add on P1Harmony’s page because I don’t understand why we shouldn’t mention birth dates when Wikipedia is a plateform providing informations ? Limivakasaï (talk) 19:43, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
Plus, on french Wikipedia, birth dates are mentioned as well as real name of the members, why is it not the case in english ? Limivakasaï (talk) 19:44, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, there is consensus against listing K-pop group members' full names and birthdates and other trivial info, P1Harmony is a group article about the group not the individual members. Once the members pass WP:NMG they can have their own articles. Abdotorg (talk) 19:49, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Abdotorg! I know you did this ages ago but you reverted my changes to the OnlyOneOf page where you changed one of my edits.
The page had their song 'libidO' written as 'Libido" and so I was fixing it to match the official capitalization. Did you make a mistake or was there a reason behind this? Just curious, is all.

Label section on infobox for Le Sserafim

Kang Hyewon's profile image
[edit]Hello, I noticed that you reverted back the Kang Hyewon's profile picture that has been changed by user Kangbear. Is a screenshot from online fanmeeting not allowed even if we're the one attending it and taking the screenshot? Because the picture Kangbear uploaded was taken by themselves through online fanmeeting so the rights to the picture is owned by the person who took the screenshot. Sulley721 (talk) 01:10, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I would like to confirm that the screenshot was mine. but if it isn't allowed, I would upload more another better photo of Hyewon I took myself. It's just that the screenshots were the latest photo of her that I would like to use. Thanks. Kangbear (talk) 03:16, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- I am not completely familiar with how this image would be regarded as own work, but I would assume that being a screenshot from Line that the rights of the screenshot are in fact Line's. Also similar to the previous image, the quality is not very good. Abdotorg (talk) 14:53, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
The Line logo was because the fanmeeting was using Line App but I don't think it means the picture belongs to Line since the person who took the picture has the rights to the picture. But thank you for clarifying! Sulley721 (talk) 23:46, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

TNX Billboard
[edit]Hello. Why do you keep deleting the Billboard entry info under TNX. We’ve referenced official news articles about it. They are in Korean sure but it is still a reputable reference. 68.102.5.142 (talk) 11:13, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
Is there a reason you kept deleting TNX entered 5 Billboard charts ending week March 4, 2023 ? There are more than 20 official news in Korean News outlet referencing to this published on March 2, 2023. And TNX Official has also confirmed these charts https://twitter.com/TNX_Official/status/1631117022573764610 . These charts are in Billboard Pro / Business membership section in additional to regular Billboard charts.
Here is one of the Billboard ranking photo TNX No. 73 Top Current Album Sales https://twitter.com/hyunsoo_j0916/status/1630590711530680321/photo/1. Flowerdream (talk) 11:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Flowerdream: the reason I undid your edits is because chart positions should be listed in the discography section under "Peak chart positions", not listed as bullet points in a prose section. Abdotorg (talk) 12:13, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
Next time, please start a talk about it. Don’t just delete our work. Kdthle (talk) 19:37, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Based on the Wikipedia protocol, any revert should indicate the edit summary and talk. Rollback should not be used to undo good-faith changes in content disputes without an appropriate edit summary. An editor who repeatedly restores their preferred version is edit warring, regardless of whether those edits are justifiable. Claiming "My edits were right, so it wasn't edit warring" is not a valid defense.
- I notice that you have not contributed adding any contents to this TNX group page other than deleting someone’s else works several times. Nor you follow TNX groups on Twitter Official. Please do respect other people time and work contributed in good faith.
- We are active TNX fans who actively updating and promoting TNX on Twitter, Instagram and Youtube in TNX Fans community. We have noticed that TNX contents are not up to update on Wikipedia. That is why we start compiling the contents from last year which all have sources. The reason 2022 and 2023 are split because we start adding the contents for each album (which you also have deleted without talk / edit summary while in progress yesterday).
- If you have suggestion that any content should be in different sections, you can leave suggestions in talk, not arbitrary deleting people work several times. Thank you. Flowerdream (talk) 12:06, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi again @Flowerdream: Regarding your mention of my lack of edit summaries: in my first revert of your edits my edit summary states "Per WP:SINGLEVENDOR" which was in regards to your itunes chart additions and therefore warranted the restoration of the previous revision. About my second revert: I apologise for the lack for content in my edit summary I will explain why I reverted you again below. And in my third revert I said "See my talk page - the section above this is too small to have 2023 split into a new section, leave it." - If you are going to make a new section when the existing section is already too small then please add a substantial amount of content before doing so or else they will need to be re-merged as I did.
- I have deleted your most recent contribution to the TNX article because the chart you have listed with Love Never Dies being at #73, the "Top Current Album Sales" chart is a sales chart. Sales charts are not applicable to be listed in the peak positions section. The two main Billboard charts that are to be listed in the peak positions section are the Billboard 200 and US World Albums. Furthermore, the source you listed as a reference is a link to Billboard Pro which is (if this chart hadn't already been non-applicable) not suitable because it is not a direct chart source and does not explicitly state the chart position of the EP. Additionally, you have created a new table titled "Other Billboard Charts", this is not the correct way to format a discography section and also a news article is not a suitable way to reference chart positions. I understand that you may not have access to Billboard Pro in order to archive the chart positions but this cannot be used as a reference. Abdotorg (talk) 22:07, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- May I ask where the policy stated that Sales charts are not applicable to be listed in the peak positions section ? Both Circle Chart and Oricon Charts are also current sales chart in Korea and Japan. Why it allows ? The only difference between Billboard 200 and Top Current Album Sales Chart is Billboard 200 includes streaming and old songs.
- I do have access to Billboard Pro and Top Current Album Sales Chart link is https://www.billboard.com/charts/current-albums/ . However, the reason I decided to use Billboard Pro main page is because current album chart changes every week. If you think it is necessary to use current album link chart instead, I can also do so. I also cannot archive by using image of the ranking for public view because this is paid subscription. This is what it shows once login to Billboard Pro page https://ibb.co/SmsXnRY
- Instead of just deleting other people's contents, I would like to ask your contribution by helping add the contents how to document these achievements. Given that the paid subscription is hidden for public view, one cannot deny that this information does not exist or not allow to add. Flowerdream (talk) 23:52, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- So sales are to be listed by estimated amount not by ranking. Circle and Oricon list both number and ranking in the same chart therefore we use the same chart for both things. The chart you refer to does not list number of sales so it cannot be used, this is general practice. I have had a look for sales numbers for the article and it would be reported here but since it is not in the top 10 it has not been reported on therefore we have no access to the official sales numbers. The most notable chart of the selection you added is the Heatseekers Albums chart, I have made an edit to reflect this. Abdotorg (talk) 13:28, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Your reply is contradictory to your own previous statement you said. Previously you said "Sales charts are not applicable to be listed in the peak positions section" and you chose to delete my edit (several times). When I questioned the policy, your contradicted reply is "The chart you refer to does not list number of sales so it cannot be used". Nor you could provide the official Wikipedia policy when I asked for it.
- We all know Billboard usually does not report sales figure to accompany their charts; though sometimes it mentioned in separate article partially on some artists rankings. I do not understand why now you insisted requesting Billboard sales figure to update TNX Groups Wikipedia page; where previously you said it was not applicable. According to your (no source) claim, then you should also go requesting all thousands of artists on Wikipedia where listed with Billboard Peak position that they also need to provide the sales figure across the board to be listed, where it is obviously Billboard never provides those figures.
- The sales numbers for the Billboard article you mentioned per your claim was also not applicable to the chart I was referring to. It seems that you do not know the difference of Billboard 200, Billboard Top Albums and Billboard Current Top Sales Album. That article you mentioned was only for Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Albums. It is not Billboard Current Top Sales Album I was updating TNX chart for where it is listed as No.73 on this week Billboard Current Top Sales Album. The different tiers identity the popularity of new and smaller artists without the influence of large streaming and previous popularity base.
- And it also seems you do not have access to Billboard Pro before making self judgement by deleting someone's else edit who does have access to that information and who provided the official validity of the source, link, screenshot, more than 10 official news citations and also confirmation from TNX Official.
- Wikipedia is the community collaboration site. It does not require an unknown random person on internet who never contributed adding the contents on that particular page (except deleting someone's else contents), nor following the information of the official group; to self proclaimed authority to approve, delete or revert contents repeatably and restored their preferred version. While other editor has good faith, spending time update the information and provided all validity sources and official news and gave explanation several times. It is not only disrupting the editing process to improve the information on Wikipedia. It also discourages other editors who have good faith to continue working on improving the contents of the page in the future which is the violation of the editing policy of what Wikipedia is built for.
- Again, I have provided more than enough official information on TNX No.73 on this week Billboard Current Top Sales Album as summary below.
- Official Billboard Pro Chart link https://www.billboard.com/charts/current-albums/
- Screenshot of TNX No.73 on Official Billboard Current Top Sales Album March 4, 2023 ending week https://ibb.co/SmsXnRY
- Official confirmation from TNX Official on this ranking https://twitter.com/TNX_Official/status/1631117022573764610
- Official News from jTBC, one of the most trusted Korean news https://n.news.naver.com/entertain/article/437/0000333997
- More than 10 other official news citations in one of the revision you have deleted.
- Above official references are more than enough to update this information on TNX group page. If you still continue disapproving this information, I may understand that you have personal agenda to disrupt good faith editing and engage Edit Warring ( reverting more than 3 times repeatably) and Vandalism which are violations of Wikipedia policy.
- I am hoping TNX groups page will continue to grow with more useful contents and hoping to have positive collaboration and the input from you by updating that information in the table where it is applicable. Thank you. Flowerdream (talk) 18:09, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Okay I should have explained myself a little better, when I refer to sales being in the table I am talking specifically about the "Sales" section (eg. the sales for Way Up are 73,634). Sales are allowed to be in the table as long as they are in this format, not as a rank. I am talking about general practice here that is why I have not provided a link to the policy, the best I can send you is WP:RECORDCHARTS and even then that doesn't seem to suffice. You are correct that I do have have access to Billboard Pro and thus I can not see these chart positions, but this does not change the lack of usage of the charts you have listed on Wikipedia.
- You seem to have a problem with the fact that I have not contributed to TNX's article before - I watch around 2500 articles in order to revert vandalism and disruptive edits where I can, this does not mean that I have to pay attention to any one article at any one time. I have had TNX on my watchlist since the article was created and it has less than 250 revisions which shows how little vandalism it has received, therefore I have not had much to do on this particular page. Abdotorg (talk) 18:28, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Again, "the sales for Way Up are 73,634" you are referring to is Korean Circle Chart sales, not Billboard. Billboard never provides sales figures in general. So you can't use that as an example of your claim that it needs sales figure. In addition, you seem to not know that Way Up album was not reported on the US charts. Way Up orders were shipped to the US 4 weeks after debut which missed the first promotional period.
- Love Never Dies is the first time P Nation provided US exclusive signed albums and the pre-orders were immediately shipped from the US upon release and the sales have been reported to US Chart immediately the first week. That's why it was charted on several Billboard Charts for the first time. It should have been charted on Billboard higher if they had more US stocks prepared, as US exclusive signed albums were all sold out immediately the first week.
- Billboard Top Current Album Sales where TNX is ranked No. 73 which I was trying to update is clearly listed on Billboard Chart wikipedia . It is new chart under Billboard Pro subscription based, that is why not many people are aware of it. That may also be the reason there is no dedicated wikipedia page for this section yet. In addition, the subsequent Billboard Catalog Album section on wikipedia also stated "the Billboard Current Albums is equivalent to the Billboard 200, with the catalog titles removed."
- I figured out prior that you probably do not follow TNX activities nor have substantial knowledge about TNX group; otherwise all these issues will never been questioned. And you have said yourself above that "I watch around 2500 articles in order to revert vandalism and disruptive edits where I can, this does not mean that I have to pay attention to any one article at any one time." which confirmed you have not paid attention on TNX contents.
- Wikipedia is community contribution page. The policy stated "No one, no matter what, has the right to act as though they are the owner of a particular article (or any part of it). Even a subject of an article, be that a person or organization, does not own the article, nor has any right to dictate what the article may or may not say. If this watchfulness starts to become possessiveness, then you are overdoing it." When you jumped to delete someone's else content who updated with good faith with facts , without open talk first fall into this category. When you put the edit summary after deleting "No Need" also fall into this dictatorship.
- To be an editor on a particular topic, it will be helpful if an editor have knowledge and interest of that topic and follow the events and activities so he/she can contribute adding useful contents with valid sources and facts. Wikipedia policy encourages collaboration, open talk discussion first or bring 3rd party editor to reach resolution to improve the page, not arbitrarily jumping to revert or delete contents right away per one's self opinion without discussion first. Such actions have disrupted our good faith edits and discourage some TNX editors as well as myself to work on TNX page.
- As you said yourself that TNX page " it has less than 250 revisions which shows how little vandalism". So the other 2,500 articles you follow may require more attention and time from you. And you do not need to worry about TNX page. Please let us TNX editors continue to update contents collaboratively and peacefully.
- I have explained and provided all necessary facts of our works as well as explaining the Wikipedia reverting etiquette and policy. I hope I do not have to spend time explain this long messages again on future contents while we work with good faith with valid sources.
- We and other editors will follow Wikipedia formal reporting protocol if any future arbitrarily reverting are done again without talk which you have already exceeded the limit with repeated attempts.
- All these discussions, your reverting history have been documented. I looking forward to your future collaboration and cooperation. Thank you. Flowerdream (talk) 04:12, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
Forestella
[edit]What do you mean by "we don't list birthdays and ages"? It's encyclopaedic information and is available in sources. Xia talk to me 16:46, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- The inclusion of things like birth names (if going by a mononym), dates of birth, and ages, on South Korean music group articles was discussed back in 2017 and it was agreed that we would only include stage names and positions in the group (excluding things like lead/main/sub). This is now general practice and can be seen in every South Korean music group article. Abdotorg (talk) 16:54, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Forestella is not a kpop idol band. They don't have stage names, those are their real names. It's relevant information when you don't have articles about these people. I thought we are writing an encyclopedia and giving information to people. Birth dates and ages are often searched for information of any artist. 3 out of the 4 members don't have separate articles where this could be presented. Rules should be flexible, within reasonable limits, and not applied blindly. Xia talk to me 17:08, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Warnings
[edit]Hi, I notice you are not using warning templates after reverting vandals. Please do so as it makes it easier for admins to block them if reported to WP:AIV thanks. Lightoil (talk) 02:35, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Autopatrolled granted
[edit]Hi Abdotorg, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Aoidh (talk) 15:26, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

Courtesy link: NCT U Hello! I've seen the members list removed from the infobox twice. Would it be worth adding one of those in-line notes (that only appears in the editor), about not adding the members to the infobox? I'm blanking on their proper name, but could be worth it if all NCT members are NCT-U members at some point. The page keeps popping up in my watchlist. Explain why
[edit]Why can't Girls Generation page have a "members" section when even Blackpink and BTS pages has one? All blackpink and BTS members also have their own articles. 「HypeBoy」TALK 13:28, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- As far as I am aware it makes sense for Blackpink and BTS to have members sections because the group members have official positions to be listed there, whereas (as far as I know) SNSD do not. Abdotorg (talk) 19:38, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Please do not delete all the results of other people's efforts, please give the reason
[edit]Please do not delete all the results of other people's efforts, please give the reason Wyegw3e (talk) 12:57, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Wyegw3e: Chart positions needn't be mentioned or referenced in the main body unless they are exceptional (for example: "Hobgoblin" is their highest position on Billboard) - there is a discography with chart tables for this info. You have added external links to the heading of 2020–2023, YouTube and TikTok should not be linked at all even in ref form and especially not in a heading. Also not worth mentioning is MV views and likes, they are constantly changing and are irrelevant. Abdotorg (talk) 13:08, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

The reason why you don't use member tables
[edit]Hello, Abdotorg. Sorry, I'm new in English Wikipedia I'm from other interwiki. I'm just wondering why are you don't use member tables anymore. It would be nice to know the reason because I don't wanna do a mistake again. By the way, thanks for making english page for fruits zipper, it was really important for me. Wffmiysa (talk) 18:49, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
Here is one of the discussions where we talked about eradicating trivial info (such as "member colours") from members sections. Member colours specifically are most definitely WP:Fancruft. Things like date of birth, place of birth and height are also not needed as the article is about Fruits Zipper not the individual members. When the members are notable enough to have their own articles these things can be included in their infoboxes. Abdotorg (talk) 19:06, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
