User talk:Anna Karolina Heinrich

Thanks for your thanks!

To me, citations are a crucially important element of a page such as this, and it is vital to get them as full and as complete as possible. Using the {{cite pmid|nnnn}} template ensures correctness and uniformity. However the pmid reference seems to be direct to pages, so I am surprised when you say they can be shared. Perhaps verification is needed.

Apart from correcting directly, I also hope that you can see how citations are. There is a whole family of citation templates: the general ones are {{cite book}} and {{cite web}} but more specific are {{cite journal}}, {{cite encyclopedia}} and {{cite conference}} and others. You can learn more about these by typing 'template:cite book' (for example) in the search box at top right.

Any questions, I'd be happy to help (if I can).

Hi. I saw your edit to Lymphatic system, this edit. Its fine to link to other articles (also internal as well as external), but wikipedia isnt external, so I have moved your edit to the see also section. Links to other wikipedia articles is made by starting with [[, and then the article name, and closing with ]]. E.g. [[Lymphatic system]] gives Lymphatic system. Do not be afraid of editing :-) people will always help, and correct any mistakes. Christian75 (talk) 11:01, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to say pretty much the same thing. But the link doesn't seem quite as relevant in Elephantiasis, so I removed it ... his article doesn't seem to mention that condition. It'd be far better to describe any significant contributions in the article's text. Graham87 15:41, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto (almost) for Lymphedema and American Society of Lymphology. You may be interested in WikiProject Medicine; any questions about contributing to medical articles can be asked at its talk page. To find out more about inserting citations (as discussed above), see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, particularly the text about refToolbar. Graham87 15:49, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No more orphans!

[edit]

I'm no medic, so I can only suggest methods rather than details. What you need to do, in fact what you did do with lymphatic system, is go to the general area of interest. For example you could just click on vascular surgery within the article, or type something else in the search box. Then on the article page, just add *Waldemar Olszewski to the See also section, or there isn't one then start one with

=‍=See also==‍

It's that simple. Wikipedia will take care of all the parenting! So if you look at the Waldemar Olszewski page, and click on 'What links here' in the left column, you will see the parents.

Once you've done that, you can edit Waldemar Olszewski page and remove the top line.

Because I am no medic, I have asked someone else to help with the citations. However I don't know whether he will or not.

I am about to add Waldemar Olszewski to the disambiguation page.

New page of interest?

[edit]

I have just made corrections to a new page NK-92, which seems to have some connection with lymphoma. I don't know if this is within your circle of interest. John of Cromer in Philippines (talk) mytime= Tue 12:07, wikitime= 04:07, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Wikipedia is like that! My advice would be to make the article bigger not smaller - make the body bigger, relating various milestones. And also make more and better linking between the body and the citations. I am currently trying to reduce the page on Victoria's Secret – it has 190 references!

I have asked another editor (user:John of Reading) to offer advice - he is much more experienced than me.

Meanwhile...

Other places to look

Someone above has already mentioned WikiProject Medicine (aka WP:MED). You could also check out The Medicine Portal. I think at either you'll find better specialist help and advice than I can offer. John of Cromer in Philippines (talk) mytime= Fri 13:03, wikitime= 05:03, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for Waldemar Olszewski

[edit]

You asked me for help finding sources for Waldemar Olszewski. Appropriate sources for biographies on Wikipedia include interviews conducted by institutions not affiliated with the person who is the subject of the article. Popular ways to find sources including using a search engine like Google or using a library.

Remember that every statement in a biography which does not have a citation is subject to deletion at any time.

You have tried to add a list of publications to this person's Wikipedia article. You should list the publications which have been mentioned as significant by being discussed in an interview or biography. If you want second opinions about any of this, please check at WP:TEAHOUSE. Please help editing my article WALDEMAR OLSZEWSKI

[edit]

I just moved this from the dispute resolution page. You can copy it elsewhere if you like, but the notice at the top says to not post requests for help where you posted this. Right now, the best place for you to ask for help is Talk:Waldemar_Olszewski and WP:TEAHOUSE. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:36, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me how to edit the article. What kind of additional citations do I need? And how to do it? Please show me the example in my article.

And another question is: the person (Waldemar Olszewski) has published about 600 publications. Some of them I added to my article (with pubmed number), but somebody deleted them twice. Shell I add those publications again to my article? Thanks Anna Karolina Heinrich (talk) 17:26, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Go to the talk page of the article and state why you feel the content should be added. Someone will tell you if there is a problem. If someone says that there is a problem then respond to them and have a conversation. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:33, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Anna, as JFHJr noted on his talk page reply to you, it is not your article, even if you created it and put a lot of effort into making it a detailed article, it belongs to everybody and anyone can edit it (those are the basics of Wikipedia). Also, biographies of living persons are subject to much more stringent rules than ordinary articles, precisely because they are about living people, which also means they receive a lot more scrutiny, so as to avoid: CV-style articles; mainly promotional articles about non-notable people; defamatory information which could have legal implications for the Wikimedia foundation and so on.
Wikipedia is not the place to list his 600+ publications, I would suggest adding an External Link in an External Link section, where you may add links to information "that could not be added to the article for reasons such as copyright or amount of detail".
I would also like to ask you what is your interest in, or relation to, this professor as you appear to be a little bit obsessed about the insertion of the aformentioned material? Thanks for your reply, we are trying to help. CaptainScreebo Parley! 11:40, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your answer. I am not obsessed about the article! I just want to make a good job and try to correct as many mistakes as I can. This is the first article I added to wikipedia. I am new here so I have still to learn a lot. I appreciate every help :) Thanks again Anna Karolina Heinrich (talk) 12:15, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
