Broadcasted
[edit]The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B
Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".
A May 2023 search for Broadcast gave over 234,000 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 99.
Of these, 16 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 14 refer to a 2015 Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.

Excessive reverting
[edit]Hi,
While I appreciate your commitment to fighting vandalism, you didn't even try and let me add sources to the Gordon the Big Engine article. You instantly reverted it; your last revision caused an edit conflict and the redirect to miss out on sources that didn't exist before it was deleted.
Please be more careful in future.
Thanks, Apollo 2A02:C7C:2DCE:1F00:7141:961B:60B2:D440 (talk) 21:46, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gordon the Big Engine where the consensus was that it should be a redirect - you would need to overturn that decision before even trying to recreate an article - Arjayay (talk) 21:48, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- may I see the policy that says I need to overturn a decision instead of just.. I don't know.. recreating it with better sources that weren't in the old article? 2A02:C7C:2DCE:1F00:7141:961B:60B2:D440 (talk) 21:50, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Arjayay, excuse me joining this discussion. @2A02:C7C:2DCE:1F00:7141:961B:60B2:D440: take a look at Wikipedia:Deletion review which is what you need to follow if you want to change the outcome of an Articles for deletion discussion. Best, Opolito (talk) 23:10, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- I never said I wanted to reverse the outcome of the discussion. I wanted to create the article again, using better sourcing. The AfD was a few years ago, and new sources have appeared that did not exist back then. I would like to do that, but right now I've had a string of edits reverted repeatedly, and I don't want to get warned or blocked. 2A02:C7C:2DCE:1F00:7141:961B:60B2:D440 (talk) 23:17, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- The decision was to delete the article. If you want to recreate the article with new sources, you are asking to reverse that decision. So you need to follow Wikipedia:Deletion review which says "Deletion review may be used... if significant new information has come to light since a deletion that would justify recreating the deleted page" - which is exactly the case here. Opolito (talk) 00:03, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for stepping in Opolito - I had to stop early last night - I couldn't have explained the situation better - thanks again - Arjayay (talk) 09:54, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Soviet ship Stary Bolshevik
[edit]Hi, You rolled back my edits today to my edits yesterday (I have a dynamic IP), although I cited the sources. Why? --88.200.199.19 (talk) 16:25, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for that 88.200.199.19 looking back through the log, I was trying to revert the edit to Michael Oliver (referee) immediately before yours in the Recent changes list (I remember being confused later that it had not been reverted). I suspect the "Live update" option shunted the list down, just as I clicked on revert, but I should have checked - so apologies again - I have reverted myself - Arjayay (talk) 16:34, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. --88.200.199.19 (talk) 16:45, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
The immediate, 'only warning' templates
[edit]Hi, Arjayay. I am totally with you about the unsourced content added by the guy at Limbu people, and would support a block at his next unsourced edit. One minor issue regarding templating: the Multi-level templates like {{uw-unsourced1}} through {{uw-unsourced4}} end at their last enumerated digit (usually -4, sometimes -3). The *-im template is not the one that comes after *-4, it is used immediately with no preceding warning template when a user's behavior is so egregious that they do not merit any of the 1 to 4 sequence of increasingly serious template warnings, instead you skip them all and go straight to the *-im template, which says: "This is your only warning...". Not a big deal, but thought I should point it out.
Fwiw, when I see someone ignoring a series of warnings and carrying blithely along on the same path, I always consider whether it is possible that they might be unaware of any of the messages, which is the case with some people using the mobile interface. If they are, you can see it in a tag in the history, although I am still trying to work out exactly which tags imply they do not see the warnings and thus cannot react. In the case of this editor, none of those tags are present, and unless there is some other impediment to seeing them that I am not aware of, they should have seen them by now. (I suppose it's possible they turned off notifications of Talk page messages in their Preferences, but seems extremely unlikely for such a new editor.) About Gaurav Devasi Page
[edit]Gaurav Devasi is a regional cinema actor about whom a lot of information is available on Google. He also has a Google panel. His data has been tampered with by some unknown person due to which we are facing difficulty in creating the biography of the correct person.
Instead of targeting him for removal yourself, please help in bringing this artist to Wikipedia.
As it is necessary for all notable persons to be on Wikipedia, this artist is also demanding his rights. 223.189.93.106 (talk) 11:53, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
@Arjayay: You reverted my changes which had both sources with range. The revision you reverted to had range with two source pinkvilla and bollywoodhungama source but with same ref tag "<ref name="bo">" and it caused only one source to be seen repeated twice. In my last revision, I fixed this error. You will have to remove the ref name tag from one of the source. RangersRus (talk) 00:20, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Proposed Improvements to the "Mitra surname" Page
[edit]I’d like to discuss some proposed improvements to the "Mitra surname" page. After reviewing the content, I believe there are several areas that could benefit from additional information and clarification
I would like to draw attention on the use of Mitra surname by various other castes in Bengal like betel cultivators who are not visvamitra gotra. Secondly, Geographical spread of Mitra surname is not accurate in this page it is solely represents as Bengali surname But it is widely used by Arora- khatri community in punjab. And it would be nice to add the use of Mitra surname among parsi community along with shedding some light on the Mitharaic community worshiping the Iranian god Mithra. And it would be great to add on how Mitra as a last name is traditionally used by Brahmins. Eg- visvamitra, pushyamitra, Agnimitra. India is culturally diverse nation and inclusivity is in its morals from the very day of its creation and I would like Wikipedia to reflect the same when it's dealing with any topic related to indian cultural Heritage. Eclipsing the identity of any community would be against the very moral spirit of our nation.
I believe these updates will make the page more informative and valuable to readers. I would be happy to help research and contribute content, but I welcome any feedback on these suggestions and would love to collaborate on improving this page.
Thank you for considering this! 2409:4065:D08:655C:0:0:1E4B:3E0A (talk) 06:33, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

Heading Change
[edit]I changed the heading in the article "White Mountain Art" from 'Notable White Mountain Artists" to "Well-known White Mountain Artists". I feel "well-known" is more descriptive than "Notable". Why did you revert my edit? Who is to say what is a better heading? JJ (talk) 21:46, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi JJ, "Notable" is the standard term used across Wikipedia - look at any city article and there will probably be a list of "Notable people", or university article will have "Notable alumni", etc. This all derives from Wikipedia's principle of WP:Notability. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 10:03, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

Augment (app) page removal
[edit]Hi @Arjayay Augment has been acquired by StayinFront and we would like to remove this page from the Wikipedia site. Please let me know what evidence you may need to support this, thank you. AAnwar3 (talk) 09:54, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi AAnwar3 - We don't necessarily remove pages, just because a firm has been taken over. Many people won't know that, and would still look it up as "Augment", whilst we wouldn't want to loose the history of the original company. As you have a conflict of interest, I suggest you provide a reference about the take over at Talk:Augment (app) and request it is added to the article. - Arjayay (talk) 15:44, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Only allow me to edit. This time I will not edit wrong information without source. Kumarkeshav2805 (talk) 05:32, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry Kumarkeshav2805, I can't do that right now. Furthermore, I can't protect the page, as I'm not an Admin, so I clearly have not protected it before, despite your claim. As for only allowing you to edit, we don't do that for any page. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 09:30, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
