License tagging for File:Barto and Mann.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Barto and Mann.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Just letting you know I replied to your question to me on my talk page. -Andrew c [talk] 17:14, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Andrew, I'm not sure how to reply to your e-mail and to thank you for your feedback. If this is how to answer, thank you so much. I have added categories and will work on the footnotes. I have read not to have too few or too many footnotes, so I'll add a couple more until someone provides feedback that I have too many footnotes. Brad Smith 21:46, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Barto and Mann
[edit]No problem, happy to help.
I should point out though you shouldn't get carried away with links! For example it is not considered good practice to link section headings like in the present version. If a section heading directly relates to an article on Wikipedia it is better to add the code
beneath the heading (edit this page to see the code). For example the article on William Shakespeare. Even if there is no directly related article you probably will have linked to the appropriate one within the text of the section and so linking the heading is redundant anyway.
There are lots of little coding tricks to make articles more professional, a tip is to look at highly ranked (Featured or Good) articles and see the types of things they do there. You can get most of the useful tips at WP:MOS as well or one of the many links.
If you have reliable evidence to show an article (e.g Hellzapoppin' (musical)) is incorrect don't hesitate to provide the evidence on that article's Discussion page. If it is agreed with someone will move the page to the correct title, and once you get experienced enough you can even move the article to the correct title yourself. Renaming an article is the same thing "moving" an article, each article takes a unique name and to change it you must "move" the article to a new unique name. But it must be done right, checking all the pages that link to that page. It's not that hard, and like with most things there is a help page, WP:MOVE.
To link to any section heading you use a hash between the article name and the section name, i.e Alexander Pantages#Pantages Theatre Circuit, and this goes on the left-hand side of the piped link. If you do this though remember to write a comment under the section heading on the Alexander Pantages page noting that the Barto and Mann page links to that section heading. If someone wants to change that page they then know not to break the link.
Hope that helps. Chizero (talk) 16:27, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dewey Barto.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bulwersator (talk) 11:26, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
Feedback to Help:My sandbox
[edit]"When I click on "My Sandbox," my last project (Dewey Barto) appears. This article has been accepted. How do I begin a new project in My Sandbox"?"
When you click on My sandbox at User:Bradford Smith/sandbox, it now redirects to Dewey Barto. Under the title, you will see (Redirected from User:Bradford Smith/sandbox). When you click on that link, it will open your sandbox page without the redirect. You can then edit as desired. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 09:26, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 2
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nancy Walker, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Mann (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
