  • Due to my recent RFA, which passed 58/1/1, I am now an administrator. This means that I edit as I used to, however I have some more tools which allow me to protect and semi-protect pages, delete pages, block users, and have access to some more pages. I can also undo all of these actions. If you would like to contact me about any of these actions, please feel free to contact me on my talk page, or if you're blocked, or it's a private matter, I can also be contacted on email. Please keep all messages nice.
  • Be civil- I will remove messages that are vandalism.
  • I will respond to all messages on your talk page, unless it's a "group" conversation here.
  • PLEASE SIGN YOUR COMMENTS by putting ~~~~ after your post. I don't really want to be searching through the page history to find who posted the message!
  • And a special thanks to Riana for some codes I found on her talk page, and also thanks to Erich and Editor at Large, who helped with the codes on her page. I have put these codes onto my own to make them look colourful! :)

Rollback question

[edit]

Hello. I have found your user-page because you are an administrator who grants rollback privileges. I am performing academic research and I am particularly focused on usage of the rollback feature. I have imported en-wiki dumps into MySQL for analysis, and flag RBs by parsing revision comments for the "automatic comment" left by RB edits.

My question: In February 2009 and the months preceding it, about 200k RBs were being performed a month. Beyond that, usage of the RB feature seems to decline sharply; in September 2009 I show only 1k RBs. Can you help me understand this? Did the automatic revision string change? Did the use of anti-vandalism bots (with their slightly altered RB strings (which I don't try to parse)) become so prevalent that no one does it 'manually' any more?

My current research has found no reason for this 200x change, and I hope you can help. Of course, your help will aid my research -- which in turn will help the Wikipedia community in combating vandalism. West.andrew.g (talk) 16:40, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

CattleGirl,

This is Danielle. I haven't been on in a while so, I' don't know if they changed anything or not.

I have soooooooooo many questions. First off how do make your name change colors like that? At the end of your signinature? HTML. I do a little bit of that on Neopets.

You can check out my Neopets page. Just type in [1]

and scroll until you get to a search bar. Then search danielle_krefft. If you're not already a member and want to join, make sure you put that you were referred by danielle_krefft! :) If you sign up you can have NeoFriends, NeoMail, and NeoBoards! Anyway go ahead and check it out! That's all for now!

Okay, but where do I start in terms of Article Talk and WP Talk? Also, I already went for an editor review. I wonder if I can still find it?... Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 19:17, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found it. Wikipedia:Editor_review/21655 Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 21:53, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry it's been so long! Things are pretty hectic this end, but hopefully I'll be online more reguarly now.
Where can you start? Well, just by adding your opinion every now and then, or perhaps commenting on what could be done on the article. Any productive talking is good!
Another sort of Wikipedia namespace editing you can do is helping out on the talk page. Even if you don't know the answer to a question, it's always good to research and you'll find your knowledge of wikipedia grows quite a bit. And I always find it good to include a link to the page I found the information on anyway.
Anyway, that was pretty brief, but I must be off for the night. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 10:48, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Who in the name of Ninjatenblahdo is Willy on Wheels? Do you know the page where I can find what went down between this guy and Jimbo? Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 22:29, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, care to comment on my ER? Please? Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 03:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, sorry it's been so long! It's festival season over here in Australia :)
Willy On Wheels was an incredibly annoying high speed page mover... which caused a lot of trouble for everyone trying to revert him.
It's sort of hard to find pages on him now because they're all deleted and protected on Wikipedia.
haha, name of Nintendo. That's good :)
I'll sure comment on your editor review :) I've probably said a lot of what I would normally say already but I'll give it a go :)

Boy, am I getting bored waiting for my approval on VPRF. Right now I'm using Huggle, which is actucally freakin' amazing, but I also want VPRF for means of comparison
By the way, what's it like being an admin? Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 21:54, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS: What is generally an acceptable level of experience in terms of edit counts and policies to RfA? Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 23:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi :)
I miss Wikipedia! I've hardly had any time to work on it since the new academic year, and aargh.
Anyway ;)
I think I was waiting for a while for Vproof as well... it's worth the wait though. Occasional bugs, but it's worth it.
But I just looked up Huggle, it looks pretty good (both aesthetic-wise and function wise...)
Being an admin? I know it's cliched, but it really is just as normal. Like, there's the time just after you're promoted where you're sort of scrambling, but other than that it's the usual routine. And also, it's weird to look at my edit count- because the deletions don't show up on it, and they're what I like to focus on! But other than that, really, it's just as per usual with a few more tools for the job, and it's also easier to help people out.
I base my !vote in an RFA case-to-case. For instance, usually I'd like about 1000 mainspace edits, and a few months at least on the Wikipedia, but that can vary. Because like me, there are some that really can't be bothered to do the actual article editing! I'm sorry, that sounds bad... but what I mean is that I take much more pride in behind-the-scenes editing than working on the actual articles- although, that of course can be fun too! :P
Policy-wise, it's usually fairly obvious through your contributions whether you know enough policy to get you by. Even know I'm usually looking up a few policy pages every day, even if just to check what to do, or how to do things. But since you're looking at adminship, I think it's a really good idea for you to look at the Help Desk or 'adopting' a user yourself. Even though at first it can be a bit harder to answer questions and help people out, after just a little while you find you know heaps more, and it's worth it.
I think that's about it! Hopefully I'll get some time to go on Wikipedia tonight. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 09:25, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ZOOOOM! My edit count's going through the roof with Huggle! I went from Burba (lv1) to Journeyman (lv3) in a month!
I'll see what I can do to advance more in the road to RfA. Thanks! Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 17:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[outdented] Well, I think I have 1000 mainspace edits, I've got a PNG screenshot of the WP:FIVE saved to my disk, and I'm pretty sure I have a couple months of serious editing. Thus...

A belated happy birthday!
Sorry, the last few weeks have been hectic! I've been either camping with the kids I look after on weekends, or helping my friends band play on their tour every night >.< So todays the first day I could get back online. Seems I have catching up to do.
Thanks for the birthday wishes =]
I just looked over your RFA, sorry it didn't work out! Don't take it to heart though. Really, the only thing I saw there was constructive critism, nothing you can't work with.
If you don't want admin coaching, that's fine. You don't have to have admin coaching to pass an RFA. If you don't even want to go for an RFA, thats fine too. Honestly, adminship is really, really overrated. You're doing the same thing you used to do, only more people want help, and you can do it a little easier. And lets face it: with rollback now available, theres only a few things admins can do that other users can't already.
Honestly, just take it in stride and you'll pass an RFA. I went through 3 editor reviews, I think, and a number of months before I even thought about adminship. It's more scrutinising than it should be, but that's the way it is.
Well, reply to me soon about what you want to do.
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 10:11, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Meh, forget the stupid admin stuff. I tell ya, WP:RFA is a total battleground. I'll just stick to the only thing I can do well around here, and that's destroying so many vandals that Wannabe Kate will crash trying to count my contribs (okay, not really).
I have no clue what I want to do now, really. I already finished Adoption, I severed AdCo....now what? Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 13:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm with Keeper in your 2nd nom. I wouldn't completely rule out an RFA. I'd leave it a while, get some more experience in different areas of the wikipedia, learn more about adminship if you're interested. I'm still up to be your admin coach if thats what you want. Or, you could leave it alone completely, and that's fine too. Not everyone wants to be an admin.
Just don't get down! People aren't against you at all. They just don't think that now's the time for you to be promoted.
Um, things to do. First thoughts are to tackle backlogs. I'm probably going to go do a bit of that right now! Theres heaps to do over that way, and general fixing up and editing. I miss that. CattleGirl talk 09:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

W? HID? Part 2

[edit]

Merry Christmas, or more precisely, Happy New Year to you too. I got erroneously warned for REVERTING vandalism, which is a bit goofy the way I see it. Also, I proposed a new barnstar. Check it out here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_awards. One question though: how do I make custom signatures like yours? Two One Six Five Five (talk) 22:03, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

:) thanks
Well, you were reverting vandalism! The editor realised he made a mistake, so that's ok.
I checked out the barnstar too. I think it looks good! Well done there... I'm shocking with images >.<
Custom signatures? Fairly easy. Takes a small amount of knowledge in html though.
So the code for mine is
'''[[User:CattleGirl|<font color="blue">Cat</font><font color="darkblue">tleG</font><font color="black">irl</font>]]'''

''[[User talk: CattleGirl| talk]]''
So simply, I have the link to my userpage right at the front, and then after the line- | - where I put what it's displayed as, I use HTML formatting, such as font colours, etc. If you don't know that, which I sure didn't then, then just google HTML codes or similar.
Once you've gotten all the coding, then just put it in your preferences and check Raw Sig.
Oh- and I should mention that you need to be careful with how you customise your signature- colour sensitivity, length, etc. But it sums all that up in WP:SIG.
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 09:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to the AFD barnstar 2.0 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_awards#New_Afd_Barnstar_Proposal) but I guess the C.T.O.M. star is somewhat good too. Even though it's just a stupid polygon with a gradient that I threw together in Inkscape in five minutes.
I at least hope my new sig won't irk the sysops, even though I'm none too sure that there's such thing as red/black color-blindness. Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 17:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
'Nother question: If adoption isn't forever, then how do I know when it ends? I mean, it's not like I WANT it to, because you're a great mentor, but I might go for an RfA sometime this year. But not in the first quarter unless I'm feeling particulary brash. Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 18:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's the one I saw :)
Your sigs good! Very nice indeed >.<
Adoption? I was actually going to ask you about that. You can break it off anytime you want, after all, we've been working together since... well I think it's archived now. So a while :) . And you sure know the ropes, which is what the program's all about.
So it's up to you!
I saw your userbox page, btw. Very nice, I also don't like Green Day >.<
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 03:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How's my edit count? I can't do it myself, but perhaps if you were to just look me up and and hit Ctrl+PrintScreen or something, then email the pic to me or something.
The problem: web filters....'
I think I'll be ready to graduate from adoption if my future RfA becomes successful. Heck knows who's gonna nominate me, because I'm none too sure if many people know about the Wikipedia genius that is the guy that for some reason likes his username with all numbers in it, but still....
Also, check this out. (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3AAdmin_coaching%2FRequests_for_Coaching&diff=181896672&oldid=181807389) I'm planning early, eh?
Also, I joined the CVU and the LoC. Woohoo!
PS: Pardon the egocentricalness. It's a good way to keep up self-esteem.
PPS: Fun fact: My home country of Brazil has the largest cattle industry in the world, as well as the most cowboys. I figgered since your username is CattleGirl, that was a fact woth mentioning.
PPPS: The lead signer of Green Day states he doesn't want to be an (American) idiot, but it's too late for that, eh? [audience laughter]
Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 16:08, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit count's fair good. I'll printscreen in a minute.... One thing though (although it's pretty minor now) is the edit summaries. But you usually fill that in, so that's not a big deal.
I'd be happy to nominate you, or your admin coach when the time comes, so don't worry about that! I think however that it'd be a good idea to sever adoption before submitting an RFA- although there's nothing wrong with being adopted, I think people would just be more comfortable if you weren't? If that makes sense. It probably doesn't.
Honestly, I think that you've got enough experience, and I think that maybe about a month or something after adoption you could consider adopting other editors. That'd probably be a good time to look at admin coaching as well- which I see you've already been looking at! (well done).
League of Copyeditors, hey? I think I'm going to join that, actually.
Thanks for reminding me if it's existence! I've been looking for some more variety.
Braziallian cattle? I honestly did not know that. But I guess I focus more on the australian and american industry. But thanks to your comment I now have 3 tabs open about Brazillian cattle >.<
And how I absolutely detest that song. Good quote though :P
I see you don't like MCR! (shocking. We could never be friends >.< . I just went to their concert!) Are you into any metal? Love it. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:45, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Bah...the frick with RfAing this year--have you seen how many people freaking nominated Pheadriel? I could never find enough people who found my edits any good, except for reverting vandalism, and people don't support RfAs for just that. Besides, I have way too few edits. I'm a BURBA, for crying out friggin' loud!
Perhaps another year.
Anyway, any other tips to show me? Two One Six Five Five discuss my greatness 17:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about that! Phaedriel's very experienced, and could have been an administrator a long while ago in my view. I mean, on my RFA of course there were those who've I've met around the project, and many who only noticed me for the first time during my RFA. It doesn't matter- they'll review your contributions just the same :). And when you think of how many users are on wikipedia, you can be sure that you're well known around here!
And I'd be quote happy of course to nominate you when I feel you're ready- not quite yet, but you sure are getting there :).
If I were you, I'd go for an editor review. Every day I find more parts of the project that I never knew existed, and there's people reviewing who can suggest things I've never thought of.
Some quick advice I can give you now before I head off...
Edit summaries- just be sure that you fill in all of them. If you wanted, you can change your preferences in My Preferences -> Editing -> "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary"
And more directly, with rounding your editing, I'd have a look at more Wikipedia namespace discussion- and mainspace discussion. Where you have many user talk edits (which is great!) people would like to see some article discussion as well :)
But you really are doing well, so keep it up :) Cheers- CattleGirl talk 07:28, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well? How'm I doin'?

Yeah, you're going pretty well! Just remember to fill in an edit summary :)
Minor edits- when you go into your preferences, and click on the "editing" tab, there's a lot of boxes there. Perhaps you have the "mark all edits minor by default" box checked? That's all I can think of.
:) Cheers- CattleGirl talk 10:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my random absence :S , but I'm back now.
You're doing really well! Your reversions are accurate, and you're warning the vandal in question every time, which is great :)
If you find a vandal is persistent, then don't forget that after they've gotten their final warning you can list them at WP:AIV, which always has eyes on it.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Do you have any questions?
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 01:56, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which AV tool is better - Lupin AVT or Twinkle? RageSamurai21655 20:59, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, is it a good idea to use 'em together, or would they conflict and make an absolute mess outta my monobook? RageSamurai21655 (talk) 21:14, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I could have sworn I'd replied to this, but it seems I hadn't.
Well, I have them both- it really depends on what you want to do. Lupin's better for just reverting and warning vandals, but Twinkle has a lot more functions.
So far it hasn't made a mess to my monobook, so I'd say it'd be a good idea to have them both :) Cheers-, and sorry for the late reply- CattleGirl talk 22:43, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bah! No problem.
Now, what I want to know is how I can become as good a vandal-fighter as, say, RickK or The Rambling Man. Is length of service everything or is there more? Plus, I'm not sure how to contribute majorly to a featured article like almost all admins have. Two One Six Five Five (talk) 22:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(outdent) I guess the only thing I can really say is to do a lot of it. You have the tools for the job, but remember, one of the reasons the two users you listed are so notable is because they did it, and did it accurately. There's no quantity without quality, after all, but I think you've got that! With the featured articles... hm. I've never edited noe significantly myself, but as you said, a lot of people have. If you want to edit an article to become featured, your best bet would be to choose a good article, have a look at the parts where it failed to become a FA on the criteria sheets (all links are at WP:FA or WP:GA), and then edit mercilessly! If you have more persistence, then perhaps editing an article that's not even a Good Article, and move it up through the ranks. So yes. Really, just pick an article you're interested in, have a look at the WP:FA criteria, and give it a go. And usually there'll be a few other people wanting to edit with you, so it'll be all good. I think that's all... sorry if I missed anything, I'm a bit distracted. You heard of The Red Shore? Sad day for Australian metal. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:17, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmmm. Red Shore? Never heard of it. Not even on WP.
As for these failed FAs you speak of, I can't find the links. Could you perhaps include a direct link to this and the criteria in your next message? Two One Six Five Five (talk) 17:59, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again :)
A late merry Christmas.
Yeah, they're not notable enough for WP. Actually, they might be now, they've definitely had extensive news coverage lately...
Their link's at [www.myspace.com/theredshore] if you're interested. But I don't know what music you listen to, so...
I think they're fantastic, anyway.
What I meant with the featured articles was to find a page that's been reviewed and upgraded to a Good article, and have a look at the criteria linked to on the article talk page (or you can find them at WP:GACR). Then you can have a look at the Featured Article criteria to see on which points the article failed to reach FA status, and to edit from there judging on the differences between the FA criteria and the GA criteria.
I hope that made sense! Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:56, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please Adopt Me...

Good Evening. I'm Tintin, male, from the Philippines. You know, I've just been recently editing some articles [i.e. the 2006 Pacific typhoon season and a "new aricle", Typhoon Cimaron (2006)]. To be more familiar with the editing and deletion policies here in Wikipedia (I think that you can update me of any editing new policies in Wikipedia), can you please adopt me?

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you may please see and put your message in my talk page. Thank you for reading this message. --Pika ten10 11:17, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be happy to you! Is there anything specific you wanted to know first?
Looking forward to your reply- CattleGirl talk 08:31, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I couldn't talk with you these days. I've been especially busy of my school requirements, though I've been editing some more articles for grammatical errors or deleting a few nonsense words. Ah, I almost forgot... you can adopt me anytime. As of now, I don't have any questions but I'll approach you immediately if I do have. Thank you for replying, my dear friend...--Pika ten10 (talk) 12:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done.
Exactly the same here, I've been away unexpectedly for a week, so sorry about that.
That's fine :) If you think of any questions, be sure to ask, and I'll give you suggestions along the way.
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:12, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adopting me... I may ask that can I write nothing to my "Edit Summary" box? You know, I always write a summary about my edits on a page, but that I think it just wastes my time, especially on a talk page. Please, I need your urgent reply... -Pika ten10 11:30, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Wikipedia Signpost subscription free(i.e. you'll never pay anything)?? You know, I want to subscribe on the signpost! :) -Pika ten10 11:36, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome!
Well, of course you can write nothing in the edit summary box, but it's generally a good idea, because it shows other editors exactly what you've been doing. It saves time so people don't have to look at diffs to see the differences in a page- and of course, if later on you'd be looking at being an administrator, accurate edit summaries is something that editors look for.
The Signpost is free, and it's a pretty good idea to subscribe, it's pretty interesting.
I think that's it- feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 22:52, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it important to wikify a page instead of using HTML??? -Pika ten10 (talk) 13:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC) I think people editing Wikipedia must be given freedom on what format to use in an article.[reply]

-Pika ten10 (talk) 13:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for taking so long to reply... christmas etc.
The way I see it, wikification is important because most people, myself included, don't know sufficient HTML to edit a page. Also, HTML is a bit cluttery... as it does the job, there's a lot of text there (just look at my signature!)
Just something I noticed to improve your editing (wikification again, I suppose...)... It's a good idea when you reply to a message to start a reply with a colon= : . That'll indent your message the way mine will.
So one colon will look like this
Two will look like this
Three will look like this
and so on and so forth.
Just makes it a bit easier to read replies, etc.
Cheers- and if I don't talk to you before then, have a great christmas- CattleGirl talk 08:40, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Although I agree on you indentation, can you please allow to do non-indentation...? This will be our format if any of us will start a new topic for discussion. That is so that we will understand that one of us has started a new discussion.

Thus it will be this: TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION 1

Admin Coach

[edit]

I saw that you recently listed yourself as available to admin coach. I am looking for an instructor. As stated at admin coaching requests, I have been on wiki for a little more than a year. I had about 3,000 edits the last time I checked, and have gotten an article to featured status pretty much on my own. I am more of a wikignome, preferring to stay in the background and work. I'm looking to improve my contributions and maybe one day be an admin. Please let me know if you are available. Thanks. KnightLago 03:01, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there :)
Sure, I'd be happy to coach you! Judging from your contributions alone, you are a very strong editor, and you're also involved in a lot of the wikignome stuff that I like :)
Do you have any aspects of wikipedia that you wanted to look at specifically?
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing specific jumps out at me right away. I would just like to become more familiar with admin tasks and improve my contributions along the way. Then, if all goes well, maybe RFA in a while. KnightLago (talk) 12:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good :)
I have to head off at the moment, but I'll start a subpage for our coaching probably tomorrow, and then we can get started :)
Be sure to let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Cheers- CattleGirl talk 09:51, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sounds good. KnightLago (talk) 04:44, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, done with the questions. KnightLago (talk) 23:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be on the lookout though :) . Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:39, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am in need of help

[edit]

I have created my first article, it is on Mary Styles Harris, and I am feeling a little confused. There are some problems with my references and I can't figure out how to link my article to others. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you Jaymes10

Hi, how are you?
Linking articles to others is fairly easy. Just add two square brackets around the page name- 'page name here' *minus the spaces of course*
Or did you mean linking your article to external links?
In which case, you only add one square bracket around the link- except before closing the brackets, add a space and then add what you want to call the link- for instance, [http://www.en.wikipedia.org/ Like This] would look Like This
I hope that helped you- do you have any more questions? If so, feel free to ask. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 22:48, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, how are you?
I'd be happy to look at what you've been doing.
Based on what I can see, your edits to that article were pretty good! So well done for that- you added quite a bit of content, and wikified it.
My only advice for the moment would be to add references throughout the article (see WP:FN), and perhaps add more wikilinks into the History section where needed.
As you probably already know, more "to-dos" are found on the WikiProject Metalworking page.

question relating to my dreams

[edit]

Hi, My name is Dan G. I am 29 yrs. old living in NYC. Over the past couple of years, I have been remembering my dreams vividly. I understand these are called "Lucid dreams." Sometimes when I'm dreaming, I know I'm in a dream and am able to create things to happen in them. It's very weird, since most people I know have never had these things occur to them when dreaming. Alot of the times, I try to fly and walk. Most of the time, however, when dreaming, I'm unable to move, nor speak when I need to. This has been a recurring problem. I don't believe it is sleep paralysis, because that is when I wake up and can't open my eyes or move. The problem I'm facing is stressful because when I try to discuss it with my psychiartrist, she feels I'm crazy. I wanted to ask you if you have any idea of what my problem could be. There have been many times, where I try to stand, or move, but I keep crawling. When I need to say something, I can't because my mouth is paralyzed. If this happens all the time, for the past couple of years, what could this be?? A sign of stress, or maybe something that could lead to more serious problems?? I may be a hypocondriac in this case, but I really feel something is not right. Also, when I am awake, when I move my eyeballs upward, I feel pressure and a windy sound in my head. It feels awkard. Again, no one I know has these problems a nd that concerns me. What is your take on this?? Regards, DG —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.18.196.108 (talk) 15:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help again

[edit]

Could you take a look at the discussion I posted here: Talk:Burnish

I'd appreciate a few words of wisdom. The origin of this is the work I was doing in machining.

Begs (talk) 17:02, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, my blunder... *blush* this page should be removed: Drill_presses

It already exists as drill press. Doh! Begs (talk) 17:23, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again!
I'm having a look at that discussion now. Honestly, I don't think I can help you too much with the content- but if you'd like I can have a look at your progress and help with the Wikipedia formatting and such if you need it. Be bold!. Disambiguation pages are pretty easy- just the page name that's being disambiguated followed by "(Disambiguation)" in the title. Then simply a list of the pages that the search entry could be referring to.
They explain it far better than me at WP:DISAMBIG if you want to have a look.
But I think you can revamp the page without needing a disambiguation page- just include the information that refers to the other fields. That will probably be more organised than a group of pages.
Oh- Drill_presses was redirected to Drill before I got there, so that's all sorted out :)
Sorry this was so brief, I don't have very long on the internet here, but feel free to ask me if you need any clarification :)

User page, and WikiProject Panic! at the Disco

[edit]

Your user page seems to 'break the borders' in Firefox and Opera, it looks; but it works fine in IE. Perhaps you could change the code to this: <removed code> The blank space and <BR> has completely been substituted with {{-}} (or {{clear}}, and it renders fine, then.

Also, CattleGirl, about WikiProject P!atD, what's to become of it if the band has change its name to PatD? That, and seeing as I don't have the powers to do so, though I would do it if I could, would you be able to somehow retain the edit history of the original P!atD article and the recent edits to PatD? That would be great, thanks. It looks like some user (or users) manually moved the content. Qwerty (talk) 14:38, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thanks for that! I thought there must be some difference with the different browsers, seems there is :)
I'm pretty sure they have changed their name, but I'll have to check to make sure it's definite. Curses of holidays without internet- I'm out of the loop. Oh, and I just checked- Moonriddengirl Just did a history merge of both pages, so thats all sorted out.

Romney sheep article

[edit]

Hello, Cattle Girl

You probably remember working together on the Romney sheep page. Looking at it recently, I see someone (a human being? a wiki robot?) has asked for citations on certain statements, some of which I wrote and some of which others put in since. Someone has made an astute point in a commentary that in one place the article now says improvement has been entirely from within the breed and in another it says that improvements were made using Bakewell's Leicester. I'd like to e-talk with the people who have worked on the article since you and I did and hammer out these conflicts, place citations or remove unverifiable statements. Unfortunately, I can't remember how to open a discussion with all the people who have contributed since last April. Can you please remind me how to start one, and if possible, explain to me how to directly contact them via a talk page like yours. When I click on user names like "trigger12" I just get a message that there is no user page.

Hope your Romneys are flourishing. We are just beginning lambing.

Thanks a lot,--Sawyer12477 (talk) 00:51, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again :) Nice to hear from you :)
Yeah, I just looked at the history of the page. They probably helped us quite a bit :).
Sure I can help you, and I'd love to keep working on the article as well.
To start a conversation, you just need to go to the history of the romney page, and have a look for the person who made a particular edit. You'll see their username, and then (talk) written next to it- which is their talk page.
Pages with a red link aren't created yet... but I just looked and I think trigger12 was created after you got there, so that should be ok now.
Our Romneys are great at the moment, we're just picking out our show team from last year's lambs. We also just bought a few Maremma puppies, so it's going pretty well.
Good luck with the lambing!

Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Wikipedia:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Please visit Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. I've got to go now (again!) but hopefully I'll be online a lot more in the next couple of days. Cheers- CattleGirl talk 09:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The next time you add more question can you give me a few exercises to do? Where do you think I stand regarding an RFA? I guess I am feeling ready to move forward.  :-) KnightLago (talk) 16:33, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I recently found your name on the member page, and, knowing that you are fair, honest and not above giving out criticism, so I was wondering if you could check this page for basic alterations and copy-editing. Only help out there if you have the spare time, and if you're interested. ~ Cheers! Dreamy § 22:47, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, how're you going?
I've looked at the page, and I'm really not sure how much I can do. Really the main thing I see that needs to be done is reorganising the way the references are set out, but I really don't know how to do that...
I've reformatted a couple of things, but other than that, I think this is someone else project.
Sorry I couldn't help more! CattleGirl talk 10:18, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am fine, how would you prefer that the references were better laid out? ~ Cheers! Dreamy § 20:56, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I had some spare time, so I fixed a couple more things. With the references, they're pretty good, I've just deleted a couple of refs that were already cited just beforehand (you can see what I've done in the history of the page) or shuffled around the order they were in. It's looking good! Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:37, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would be honored if you would nominate me. Thank you. KnightLago (talk) 12:57, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On a side note, I am glad to see you back. I was worried there for a while that you may have been rustled. I wanted to let you know that in your absence I got eager to continue and asked Alison to be a co-coach so I could continue on. Luckily she never responded. Anyway, I am glad my admin coach has returned. Thanks again for all your help and welcome back! KnightLago (talk) 13:15, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
