Hi guys. Haven't socked for six months.
Previous behaviour was immature and non-constructive, but I promise I can produce quality content in the future (check out William H. Prescott, Gregory of Nyssa, Clement of Alexandria for my GAs - I know there's still work to be done on them, let alone the rest of Wikipedia!).
I have no interest in intentionally disrupting the project. If the community does not want me to be unbanned at this time, I will simply not edit at all for the foreseeable future. I recognize that unfortunately that is the most likely outcome due to my atrocious history, but I do now also recognize that sockpuppetry is always disruptive, and the "good-editing sockpuppet" can actually be far more problematic than an obvious vandal or troll.
Apologies to everyone whose time and energy I have wasted or feelings hurt. --Claritas § 13:16, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- I think the question to pose to the community would be whether we can reasonably believe that the socking is actually over for good this time. This was a repeated behavior that happened multiple times, so hopefully the temptation will be something you can resist. If it isn't, then you can be assured that the community will not take it lightly; if you have any doubts, see what happened with the very recent indefinite ban of the user formerly known as Jack Merridew. BOZ (talk) 14:00, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- The socking is over for good. If you think no-one will believe that after only six months, then maybe I should just strike my unban request and come back in five years or something. Claritas § 14:30, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

- Just to say, if I were to be mentored, I can see myself working well with Worm That Turned. I regret being rude over at Commons and Wikiversity, but I have quality contributions to both projects, and never came under sanctions while I worked on them. I will make a serious effort not to repeat that sort of flippant behaviour over here.--Claritas § 20:11, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

- Hey Claritas. I'm afraid I'm in no position to take on any more editors at the moment, though you're welcome to come to me for questions if you are unbanned. Was there a reason you didn't ask User:Carrite (or did you?), who offered in April? He's a great editor who will see you right. WormTT(talk) 14:33, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- I didn't recall Carrite's offer when I made my unban request. I would happily accept if it is felt that I need a mentor. Claritas § 18:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Now that you're unbanned
[edit]Hi Claritas! I've never had any interaction with you in the past, even your attempt to come back in April was before I became an editor, but after a brief look at your situation, I'm glad that you are getting another chance. I hope that you can make the most of it and while I'm sure there are plenty of much more experienced editors than I that are ready to help, I'm willing to lend a hand too. Unbanned
[edit]Following a consensus reached in a discussion on the administrators' noticeboard, your site ban is now removed. As such, I have unblocked this account only. (For obvious reasons, your prior sockpuppets do not get to edit.) Several editors have encouraged you to seek mentoring with Carrite (talk · contribs), and I'd like to encourage you to do so as well. Good luck editing, and remember that my talk page is always open for questions. Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 20:49, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Have a great New Year!
[edit]Hi Claritas. Well, the name change didn't go so well but neither did the mob procure your head on a pike, so all's well that doesn't end catastrophically. I'd advise you make 2013 a No AFD Nominations year, to work on serious fare, and to pursue a restriction-free clean start through formal channels at the very end of December one year hence, if that's what you want to do. Have a great New Year and if you're feeling a need to vent or have questions, etc. feel free to drop me an email or a line on my talk page, at your discretion. April 2013
[edit]Your recent editing history at Nick Griffin shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:08, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Your signature
[edit]In posting a recent AFD, you used this signature: [[User talk:Claritas|Simone]]. Signatures that do not match the username can be confusing for other editors. Please see WP:SIGPROB for more information. Additionally, as you have been banned for using multiple user accounts in the past, you might consider being very careful about any form of unintentional impersonation when editing Wikipedia. There's nothing to be gained by confusing other editors here. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 13:18, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

You have been targeted by personal attacks
[edit]FYI, Colonel Warden has posted a bunch of personal attacks at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Vecna, in which he strongly implies me, you and TTN could be sockpuppets of each other. I took it upon myself to remove the comment per WP:RPA and to give CW a final warning before escalating the matter to ANI, but since I'm not the only one involved, I'm notifying you of the comment so that you can act on your own if you deem it necessary (given CW's track record in the matter), in which case I would of course support you.Folken de Fanel (talk) 20:16, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Your signature
[edit]Hello Simone, I hope you are doing well. Per the multiple angry demands that you have no doubt been hearing, I would suggest that you change your signature again, this time to "Simone (Claritas)." I think that putting a real name to the pseudonym is a positive step and don't feel that you are being any more "deceptive" with your current signature than is at least one member of ArbCom who is doing the same thing. Still, in light of the bad old days of your socking and the people who are still annoyed about that, it is probably best to give an inch on this matter — without admitting wrongdoing, since you haven't done anything wrong... Best regards, —Tim //// Carrite (talk) 05:28, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
