Unspecified source for Image:Horthy the regent.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Horthy the regent.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 22:25, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mecsek picture

[edit]

Hi Lajos, i have uploaded your picture Image:Mecsek hungary 1.jpg to the wikimedia commons. The image here on en: is already tagged as "nowcommons". Template:Hungarian literature

[edit]

Hi. I started to improve Template:Hungarian literature. I would be glad if you could check my new version. At the moment, there are two important improvements: 1. abc order (because of npov issues), 2. an extra feature: random picture (daily; see the source)

Lelkesa 19:18, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ABC order is rightly right, not only because of npov issues - it is rather logical. Random pictures are pretty interesting. And, all in all, the new version is more fair, somehow. But, I have to warn you, this template is highly subjective. Maybe I not added all the important authors, but added those who really does not matter. It was also criticized on its talk page because of this. A more sensible solution would be to focus on the periods of literature (I mean, to summarize an era in a separate article, and the non-important authors should be listed here.) And the Greats of the time should stay in the template. The new template what I imagine, roughly:
Time Period Important
authors
Endre Ady, poet
Before 1000 Origins (none)
1000-1430 Literature in Latin

The emerging Hungarian literature

authors of the time
1918- Realism

style2 of the era
...

Endre Ady, György Faludy, etc.
It is not too hard to improve this into a template, but there is a problem: there are no articles to link with the periods I have given. So, a lot of typing is in our way if we want to tell the readers about Hungarian literature in English. Until we don't have enough text, the template should be kept in its current form (i.e. with your already done improvements), but then... What's your opinion? -- Cserlajos (talk) (contribs) 13:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think that the template is OK. NPOV doesn't mean that we cannot differentiate between more and less important poets, writers. However, consensus is needed, of course. If we want to be more objective, maybe those authors could be regarded as important who one needs to know to take a maturity exam (érettségi).
I'm proud of random pictures, the OHLM alone is a bit boring:)
Lelkesa 17:49, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Érettségi (maybe equivalent with final exam ??) - this definition seems to be okay. Cserlajos (talk) (contribs) 19:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:Coat of arms of Budapest.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Coat of arms of Budapest.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. Speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi there! When asking for a speedy delete, please don't blank the page. Admins have to look at the previous content, so blanking the page adds an extra step and ironically slows down the speedy process. Thanks and happy editing! REDVEЯS 21:31, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please give a reason (there's a list at WP:CSD) - giving no reason also slows down the process as admins have to go and look one up, then type it in. If you provide one, it is automagically made into the deletion summary. Thanks again! REDVEЯS 21:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics

[edit]

Hi, I recently expanded Bačka article with some demographics data. However, I have no data about ethnic composition of northern (Hungarian) part of the region. Since I saw that you work about geography of Hungary, perhaps you have some data about ethnic composition of Hungarian part of Bačka around Baja? Official site of Hungarian statistics have data only about Bacs-Kiskun county, but that data cannot be used because most of this county is not geographical Bačka. Is it possible to find somewhere data about ethnic composition of Bačka part of the Bacs-Kiskun county from the last 2001 census (or from any other census)? I know that after 1920, there was a separate Bacs-Bodrog county in Hungary with seat in Baja. Perhaps some demographics data could be found for this county? Or perhaps: I believe that demographics data can be found for each of the 3 districts in Hungarian Bačka: Baja, Bacsalmas and Janoshalma, so this data could be joined and we would have rough data for Hungarian Bačka. Is it possible to find the data somewhere? PANONIAN (talk) 23:11, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For example, I noticed that article about Baja have demographics data: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baja%2C_Hungary#Demographics Is this data for whole Baja district/municipality or only for the city itself? Also, do you have numbers of ethnic groups as well instead only percents? If you have this data for all 3 municipalities, Baja, Bacsalmas and Janoshalma, then we can do something with it. PANONIAN (talk) 23:57, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again and thanks for reply. You are correct that it would be the best solution to collect data for all settlements that are located in Hungarian Bácska, but problem is that I do not know names of all settlements that are located there and I also do not have official data about population of those settlements (We cannot be sure who posted population data into Wikipedia articles about those settlements and which sources he used). Of course, if you posted this data and if you can say that this data is correct that would be different, so perhaps you can calculate population of entire Hungarian Bácska (in its geographical borders) if you have population data for all those settlements. Anyway, if you do not have data for all settlements, at least the population of these 3 municipalities calculated together could represent rough population of Hungarian Bácska. Also, do you have a number of ethnic groups that live in those municipalities? (How many Hungarians, Roma, Croats, etc live in each of them?). PANONIAN (talk) 20:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I found this map: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tersegunk_l.jpg is this a correct map of Hungarian Bácska? PANONIAN (talk) 18:12, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, no use - I used this map and link that you showed to me:

But, there is problem: I cannot find there data for 2 settlements: Ujmohacs and Felsokanda:

  • Bácsalmási = 18 825
  • Bajai = 76 753
  • Jánoshalmai = 17 854
  • Hajos = 3 594
  • Kunfeherto = 2 357
  • Balotaszallas = 1 666
  • Kisszallas = 2 919
  • Tompa = 4 821
  • Kelebia = 3 019
  • Homorud = 751
  • Ujmohacs = ?
  • Felsokanda = ?

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Baranya coat of arms.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bacs kiskun coat of arms.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit]

I thought you would be interested to know that the image of Horthy the regent is a photograph of a portrait done by Vitezy Erzsebet in Hungary in 1936. Her father took a photograph of this, and we have it in our posession, and after comparing it to the one shown here, have determined it is exactly the same. On our copy you can still read the artist's signature and date. Elizabeth (as she is now called) relocated to the United States, and as a matter of fact, died this morning (February 15, 2008) at the age of 96. We would be interested in finding out where the original portrait is today. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:51, 7 April 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 02:51, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Üdvüzlet!

If I'm not wrong you uploaded a few characters of the Hungarian runic alphabet. I'd like to ask you, please upload all of them, cause your characters have the right symmetry that I'm looking for (right-left, I hope I'm not wrong). Currently there is a complete alphabet uploaded to commons, but its left-right symmetry. So if it's not a problem, please upload the rest of the characters.

You can also help by letting me know if I can find copyright free characters on the net so that I can upload them.

Thank you very much. --Föld-lét (talk) 15:15, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Magdolna purgly.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Magdolna purgly.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:06, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
