The goal is to improve this article by the end of May so that it can be nominated for Featured Article status. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.

Speedy deletion of 'FouRever'

[edit]

Hello, thank you for explaining clearly why the article was not good enough to be on wikipedia. Would it be ok after a while when we become a more notable band? They are planning to contribute to different charity groups, and it is a non-profit organization. I personally think that it is already a notable band, they already have collected money to contribute to the UNICEF fund. I am hoping to be able to post the article again in the near future, after they have become more 'notable' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kagesou (talkcontribs) 03:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Virgin Killer.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Virgin Killer.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:11, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions regarding the article I posted

[edit]

Hi, Quick question, I have added some citations now, one is a government webpage and another Windows Vista Magazine which published 3 pages on this school. Let me know if this sufficient. This school has trained over 163,242 students and trains over 50 driving instructors every year. We do have articles on culinary schools and even articles on private schools on wikipedia, driving schools should also be given a chance. Let me know if my explanation makes sense. If not, tell me how I can improve my message.

Thanks!

Just so you know, sir, on that wikiproject page, you are now listed under the heading of "Inactive or vandalism only accounts" - which I think possibly is an unnecessarily negative way to label someone who is simply no longer participating. You're kind of lumped in with "vandalism only accounts" if you dare to be inactive.

Maybe you could just delete your name from there altogether, or ask them to delete it? Anyway, just a heads up, this can be an ugly website. 70.100.83.62 (talk) 17:03, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Article: Ivanhoe's Restaurant

[edit]

I would like to discuss the article discussion. I know this is old news, but frankly I don't visit Wikipedia to edit all that often.

Yes, Ivanhoe's is a commercial establishment. It is also a "hangout" near to a college which is over 100 years old. For many decades Ivanhoe's has been a place students and alums of this college gather and remember fondly. Anyone researching the local area, this college or similar establishments would consider the article on this restaurant "encyclopedia worthy."

Although I am only a small scale Wikipedia contributor, I would appreciate your assistance in getting better. Please offer guidance on how the article could be improved to meet the criteria of acceptability. Also, if possible, please send me a copy of the deleted article.

Thanks,

[edit]

The article Shaun Thomson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simply non-notable per WP:GNG. 70-odd ["shaun thomson" "food junkie" -wiki -facebook -twitter -linkedin Google hits] after removing social networks etc, but this still includes Amazon, his own website ...

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sitush (talk) 07:54, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
