Redirects

[edit]

On 16-June, you created a "soft" redirect from Franciso de Miranda to Francisco de Miranda. You should do a real redirect in cases like this. The instructions for how are at Wikipedia:Redirect. I've fixed this one, but if you need help in the future, let me know. Thanks! -- JLaTondre 23:29, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

[edit]

It looks like you were trying to create a redirect at Orfeon Lamas. I've adjusted the code so the article redirects to Orfeón Lamas. You can create a redirect by replacing all text in the article with this line:

#Redirect[[Target]]

and replacing [[Target]] with a wikilink to the target article. You can learn more at Wikipedia:Redirect. Take a look at the page source to see what I mean. Thanks! -- Vary | Talk 00:27, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:El_pez_que_fuma.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:El_pez_que_fuma.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:05, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Ignacio Figueredo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ignacio Figueredo.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:07, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Gustavo Dudamel copyvio

[edit]

The content you added to the article on Gustavo Dudamel appears to be copied from here [1]. I'm going to remove it and replace it with a stub about the conductor. Please feel free to add to the article, but preferably wikified correctly, and definitely not material copied directly from other websites. Thanks, JRawle (Talk) 23:12, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

The images on that page, uploaded by Urregoluis (talkcontribs), are tagged as GNU FDL, but appear to be from a record company and a news website. I find it hard they are released under that licence. I'm giving Urregoluis a few days to respond, but then I'll have to flag them as copyvios too. JRawle (Talk) 12:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for (again) uploading Antonio Lauro's picture, but...

[edit]

Thank you, GJRFMorelligu, ¿eres Venezolano? But I fear that in no time there will come another ocioso like Orphanbot who believes he or she is doing humankind a service by deleting a harmless, copyrightless picture, and remove it again. Why? Because there it has no Copyright Tag yet (I'll try to affix a suitable one). Thanks to you and to all the rest of able contributors, this article (Antonio Lauro) has evolved beautifully.

Images for deletion

[edit]

Please do not remove IFD tags. Please read the tag itself, which says it is not to be removed, although discussion is welcome at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. If you want to make a case for keeping these sound files, please go there and comment. Also, it is not acceptable to just stick a GNU tag onto a sound file when someone else owns the copyright. Nobody but the copyright holder has the right to do that. We can't have two contradictory tags. The files are either subject to copyright or they are not. If you own the copyright you can of course put a GNU tag onto it, but you'll need to offer some evidence to that effect. Thanks Rossrs 08:50, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Image for Deletion (IFD) tags. As stated on the tag, they should not be removed. If you wish to discuss the matter, please do so at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. -David Schaich 15:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Rafael Rincón González.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rafael Rincón González.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigDT 12:23, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some serious issues with your image uploads

[edit]

Hi. You probably notice a lot of image warning messages above. Please note that uploading images with false or incomplete information is only going to cause problems. For example, tagging virtually everything you upload as GFDL is not a good thing. If you find a photo on some website or scan it from a copyrighted book, it has probably not been released under the GFDL.

As far as fair use goes ... a photo from a book that someone wrote about a particular composer can probably be used to illustrate the book itself, but not the composer.

Photos from sincopa.com are probably themselves copyright violations. Please see http://www.sincopa.com/mainframe.htm where they basically admit that they just blindly posted images. Without knowledge of the original source, Wikipedia cannot use the image because we have no way of knowing whether its use constitutes "fair use".

In short, please only upload images that are either from a free source or are in keeping with WP:FAIR. If you don't know, feel free to ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. When you provide false or incomplete information, you are only creating work for someone else. Thank you and please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Digital model of the municipality relief.jpg)

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Digital model of the municipality relief.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 18:53, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Antonio Estévez, with the Venezuela Simphony Orchestra.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Antonio Estévez, with the Venezuela Simphony Orchestra.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
