So what other websites can replace them and prove the records released by other recording artists and the songs included in the records?

So what other websites can replace them and prove the records released by other recording artists and the songs included in the records? Houtyuhn (talk) 07:35, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Since Discogs and MusicBrainz are no longer available, what credible websites can replace them? Houtyuhn (talk) 07:38, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

KKBox, Spotify, ‎Apple Music is this okay? I have some doubts.

Hi Houtyuhn. The artist, record label, tracklist, and runtimes are given on the insert or liner of the physical release, if there is one. Per WP:TRACKLIST, this "is generally assumed and does not need explicit citation in most cases."
If you do want a reference, many reviews contain some of this information. Here is a recent example from Pitchfork, you can see the artist and label info at the top. Some publications, like PopMatters, also include the release date, like in this recent example.
I personally don't reference streaming services like Spotify. But I don't know of any rule against it. GanzKnusper (talk) 09:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t quite understand what you mean, because I’m Taiwanese and a high school vocational student, so my English is a bit poor.
But Although each has its own controversial incidents, at least KKBox only has one infringement incident, but it won’t affect its credibility too much, right? Houtyuhn (talk) 09:25, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know KKBox. In my opinion Spotify would be fine, but all information it contains could be found in a better (and more permanent) source. GanzKnusper (talk) 09:40, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How about Apple Music? This is because I consider these three sources of music topics to be very trustworthy. However, none of the Chinese and English Wikipedia entries I've seen so far for recording artists seem to use these three sources. Perhaps it was because everyone had their own controversial incidents that reduced some credibility, so I began to have doubts about these three projects and came to inquire about them. Houtyuhn (talk) 10:04, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So what better (and more permanent) source is there for all the album information and track information included in the Chinese or English Wikipedia? Houtyuhn (talk) 10:06, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here is what I use:
  • For artist, track list, and track lengths:
  • For record label and release date:
    • reviews in music magazines
I say "more permanent" because sometimes albums are removed from Spotify and Apple Music, and then the reference is lost. GanzKnusper (talk) 13:25, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to prove the records and tracks released by some Chinese and Cantonese stars, But I can't find in the source you provided above. Houtyuhn (talk) 13:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
