Regarding the excerpt from Ahmad Shah's letter to Madho Singh, the material seems to be completely irrelavent and imaginary for the article. I mean, what do you mean by the breeze of victory flowing, the divine lord willing..., words like wretched, utter... shouldn't be there in this article. It's better if we just stick to facts.Kesangh (talk) 12:27, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is clear from the edits of User talk:Mytestid1980 that he is doing this deliberately, to vent out his personal frustrations and to spread rumours. He has again and again reverted the reverts made by you and me. This user needs to be barred from editing as he is doing all possible things to spread rumours. Let’s not be a mute spectator of such a non-sense. Appeal to Wikipedia administrators to stop User talk:Mytestid1980 immidiately from editing Wikipedia articles or atleast he should be given a stern warning. Talk to me if there’s any update on this matter, i’ll be glad to help. Kesangh (talk) 16:43, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the first paragraph of this article, why did you shift the reference ("Maratha Confederacy", Encyclopedia Britannica) from the middle of the sentence to its end. The reference was provided only for the fact that the Marathas possessed French supplied artillery. The Afghan cavalry in the third battle of Panipat was equipped with armor, shaturnals or cannons and had choicest of Persian horses at their disposal. Considering this, the Afghan cavalry used in this battle definitely seems to be a heavy cavalry and not light cavalry. What say? Kesangh (talk) 17:04, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I learnt on a cyclone article of late. If there's a punctuatn mark, cites go after it. Hometech (talk) 18:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry friend, might is not right on Wiki but vice versa is true. I have just proposed a review with consensus rather than a rampat one so that we are sure that every thing is moving in right direction & nothing is missed. This invitation is still open to all editors including you. Your interst in the article and your efforts are quite noticable. You are an old editor in new avatar so lets do it, I also know that this article is in very bad shape.
I'll be on wikibreak from today till next wednesday, so you can have a go till then with other editors.

Dear Ht, Uttar Pradesh article, although being improved by well meaning Wikipedians, has to go a long way still to be like e.g. the articles on Karnataka and Andhra. You know that, UP is much larger than both of them combined, has a long, tumultuous, Pan-Asiatic history and tremendous social/cultural diversity; its matter is going to be enormous and diverse (some times appearing like a laundry list, as you unfortunately wrote some time back). Will it not be a good idea that, in stead of deleting what appears to be too much info on any one point, the person desiring deletion goes a little further to create a 'child article' which may be referred to in the main UP article. We know that building any thing is hard and demolishing takes very little time, but we may then try to retain this way some one's genuine efforts, in my humble opinion. As a dynamic contributor, you may consider airing your views on it to others, if you agree with me. In my case, I confine my contributions to periodic 'copy edits' or to what is every day scene in UP but may be informative for distant outsiders. Regards. Thanks Hometech for going through the artcle! Speaking about the serial- Raja ShivChhatrapati(aired on Star Pravah), the website of the channel is- www.starpravah.com. Somehow i am not able to access the website. It would be really nice if someone else or if possible you could get the necessary info about the serial from the website. Kesangh (talk) 08:14, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well Hometech, i didn't start watching the serial for the purpose of noting down the facts and using it for Wikipedia. So i didn't note down the episode number while watching it. I don't even know the episode number which is currently being aired(However, i do know that the serial has completed 100 episodes). Is it not enough to just know the serial title, the network airing the serial and the people associated with it. Is mentioning the episode no. that important? Kesangh (talk) 18:14, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please be careful while mentioning the names of leaders like Shivaji. The instance i am talking about is the title of the subsection you recently created on my talkpage. The first letter wasn't capitalised. It is a small mistake but be a bit careful. Kesangh (talk) 09:11, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - I didn't notice your request (it got buried under other additions to my talk page!). Mumbai Art Deco

[edit]

Here are some images of Art Deco style in Mumbai:

Note that the buildings along Marine Drive, as well as many movie theaters in South Bombay including Eros, Regal, Liberty, Metro etc are examples of Art Deco architecture - this may help search for more/better images for use in Mumbai, Architecture of Mumbai and other related articles. Sharada Dwivedi and Rahul Mehrotra's Bombay, the Cities Within has lots of information about the development of architecture in Bombay, and frankly books by experts like these should be preferred sources over newspapers, magazines and generic websites. Request for an Interview

[edit]

Hi Hometech,

I recently sent you a message about Architecture of Uttar Pradesh.

I am a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University examining how to make interaction in Wikipedia more effective. Our research has shown that certain types of feedback encourage Wikipedians to edit more while others seem to discourage them. Experienced and less experienced Wikipedians seem to have different reactions to very similar feedback. I am interested in interviewing you about your reaction to the message I sent you. A discussion with you will help us better understand the types of feedback that can encourage newcomers's participation to Wikipedia without turning off old-timers.

I can talk with you via online chat, on Skype, over the phone, or just through Wikipedia messages if you are more comfortable with that. The interview should take take less than 60 minutes. You do need to be over 18 years old, and consent to be a part of the study in order to for me to interview you. This study has been approved by Carnegie Mellon's research ethics committee (the IRB), and the Wikipedia Research Committee.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. We will be glad to send you a draft describing our research results right after the interview.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Timeline of the Syrian civil war (from January 2013), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Patriot (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:KopeshwarTempleKhidrapurKolhapur2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:KopeshwarTempleKhidrapurKolhapur2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:53, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
